Sorry for putting this here, but I think you browse this forum the most. What orb do you use? I have SUN parallel ASCENDANT, SUN parallel VENUS all in 1.50 or under orb (the general orb.) Then I have VENUS parallel ASCENDANT but I relate to it so well.. unfortunately its 2.01 degree. IP: Logged |

I'm butting in completely uninvited to say that I cap the orb at 2° usually. 2°00' - 2°01'... Eh, you can go one second up. Depending on the size and relevance of the planets in your chart, maybe modulate that 2°orb by +/- up to 25%, and depending on what kind of answers you're looking for. For a general read, wide is fine, it all contributes to "the vibe", but if you're looking for a very specific answer, it'll be in very tight orbs. That's my technique.IP: Logged |

I am using even tighter orbs. 1° approxmiately. REason being that there is a greater probability to encounter a parallel/ contraparallel (unless asteroids) than a zodiacal aspect. (the zodiac has 360°, the eccliptic appr. 46°, not counting out of orbs, which are only going overboard with asteroids anyway).

Indigo`s answer to the question a bit ago" Originally posted by tgem: What's the max degree orb for a parallel? Variable. Per usual, we just love exactness, heh, so, any parallel that's 0°25 will have me sitting much straighter. But I'm a bit of a rebel, too. KT Boeher, (or 'auntie KT' as I was fortunate to have known her), taught me that you're reaching past 2°00, and, honestly, the effect weakens beyond 1°30. I've occasionally used those barn-wide 2°00 orbs in the case of a strong configuration that has a clearly established theme. THEN you might skate by with adding in a 2°00 parallel to buff up a tight minor aspect. And I mean tight. Keep those minors less than 1°25, too. Okay. Got it! Sun parallel Ascendant.. 1.27 orb Sun parallel Venus.. 0.87 Venus parallel Mars.. 1.17 Venus parallel Ascendant.. 2.14 ^ that one is the loosest, I only included it because it fits with the patterns. I just realized (a little off topic) since I have VENUS parallel MARS doesn't it make my boyfriend's MARS parallel my MARS and VENUS by 0.17 orb super effective?

for antiscia the degrees need to be very close (1°30). so a 13 Gemini would have antiscion/ contrascion on 17 Cancer/ Cap. however a 26 Gemini would not have such a reflection in 17 Cancer/Cap. IP: Logged |

, Ceri. Yeah, I keep my antiscia-contrascia and declinations tight. I'll still occasionally slide past 1°30 with a max of 2°, but for solstice points, I never go beyond 1°30. IP: Logged |
