I'll second that statement. In my case, my Mars trine his Saturn, and his Mars quincunx my Saturn.

With my ex, we had a Mars-Saturn conjunction. Sex had little to do with why we split.

as a sidenote - synastry w/my ex was MAGNETIC. lots of uranus which as we know provides that inexplicable, magnetism but it's also unstable. w/him I had the square at about 2 degrees and now, as previously mentioned, I have it w/current guy at 1 degree. Haven't felt any of it come out yet. and I didn't w/my ex until we moved in together, then NOTHING I did was ever right. He was awful to me verbally. my mom described it as me losing my "shine". she said it was horrible to watch from the outside and she actually encouraged me to leave him bc even when I didn't verbalize my pain, she knew.
and I don't see any other really good aspects in the synastry between he and I. He ended up deceiving me.(cheating) I told him that all of his "fear" made me suspicious that he was actually the one guilty of something. He just projected that onto me.
I will say that it was obsessive and lusty between us in the beginning (the sex stayed great) and I didn't give myself enough time before moving in w/him and committing to him, so I see my role in that.

I would like to know how to over come this "pattern" or at least how to work w/the energy. I know that this synastry is energy that can be used for good. My higherself is more powerful than a few synastry or even natal aspects.

My relationship w/my ex left me quite wounded, but I have incorporated yoga, meditation and other self care into my routine. I had a child w/him and I think that was our my purpose in coming together. He hasn't helped me hardly at all w/our son and still has the audacity to try to criticize me. He is usually more concerned w/what I am doing than asking about our son. He is a sad, lost individual and I have actually gotten over being angry with him and now I feel sorry for him. He's always so concerned w/what's going wrong that he misses what is going right.

but yeah, I have a lot of wonderful, supportive aspects w/current guy but it is a red flag to see this aspect pop up again. I would like to know what needs to be resolved, too.

Mars is an initiator, but Saturn is a builder. These two can work wonderfully together if they team up.
