My baby girl is eight months old, and I am obsessed with having a good relationship with her! Now I know that's all up to me (and her) but I was wondering how our synastry will affect this as she gets older. From what I can tell, I think we have pretty good synastry, but I wanted to know what you guys think of this synastry in the context of a mother/daughter relationship.

MOON conjunct SUN! Awww. That's such a lovely and karmic link.

Here are some highlights I see.

Watch her VENUS on your URA, though. It's especially important you remember not to be too erratic, as routine is everything for the first 6 years -- especially 3.

SATURN conjunct PLUTO is going to be another hotbed. (Don't worry; we all got 'em.) This is the classic power struggle. It's not super-tight, but it's valid, so I'd take a look at each.

VENUS-NEPTUNE is lovely, too. Storytime will be especially important and memorable, as you have a natural means of bringing imagination to life. Wonderfully creative.

BML conjunct ASC. Another power-related aspect. Of her own accord, she may develop Lillithian traits -- but they may be particularly noticeable to you.

The URA-SUN, and SUN-SAT is an interesting balancing act. The key is to let her be her own person and to always support her individuality. SUN can often feel stifled by SATURN, just as URANUS surprises and baffles the SUN.

PLUTO square SUN: power struggles. This may be where she pushes back from being the SATURN in the SATURN/PLUTO conjunction.

Your dual VENUS square SUN is amusing; doubtful you'll share a lot of the same tastes. It'll be racket, and she'll say you're just old, and you'll both enjoy every minute of it.

Congratulations, by the bye, on your new little angel.

Thank you so much=) Such great insights. I love the Sun conjunct moon and Venus conjunct neptune aspect! I can't wait to see how it plays out.

I'm just glad we don't have the Mars square Pluto aspect my mom and I had. YIKES.

You, too? Yeah, she's the MARS. Square my PLUTO exactly, and on my nCERES. It's toned down a LOT over time, but that is undeniably a rough one.

From the looks of it, you've cleared that hurdle. It's amazing how much we'll bring in the aspects we haven't sorted out with our parents into our committed relationships and youngsters in our care -- whether our children, or simply under our wing.

'Healing Mother-Daughter Relationships with Astrology' by the Pottengers is a great text, too. I'm fond of both Maritha and Zipporah's work.

That's so interesting! Are you saying that if you haven't learned whatever lesson you need to learn from a relationship with your own parents, you might have that same aspect with your own children? That is fascinating! Right before my daughter was born my mom and I started getting close and stopped having the same kind of friction we did before (although I did let loose on her while I was pregnant lol).

I'm the Mars in the relationship. I love my mom but it was very difficult growing up. Lots of power struggles and rebellion. Lots of very heated screaming matches. I eventually left the house mostly just to get away from her.
