'Sometimes this link is present between the horoscopes of those who are called upon to face some great danger together and who, in the course of the experience, are able to recognise each other's essential nature as it stands revealed in the face of extreme adversity. Sometimes this link indicates the relationship will come about through a death and, in extreme cases, the one whose SATURN is involved may be the cause of the other's death.'

There it is, folks. Ronald Davison, per his popular title 'Synastry', as it pertains to the SATURN / 8H overlay.
The big question remains: how do you correctly read that?
At first, in reading ' ... in extreme cases, the one whose SATURN is involved may be the cause of the other's death,' I presumed -- and perhaps erroneously -- that he was asserting that SATURN might be responsible for the Eighth House individual's death. But on reviewing the full sentence, ' ... the relationship will come about through a death,' indicates, off the bat, that couldn't logically be so; to whom would SATURN be relating if the 8H is dead? Follow?
So, clarification is needed.
What do you think Davison is saying? Is this a link which can -- in extreme cases -- implicate SATURN in the 8H's death? Or does he mean to imply that someone else's death, likely known to the 8H, would be responsible in some fashion for bringing the relationship about -- and the SATURN might also be responsible, or involved, regarding the death of the other individual -- but not the 8H's?
Thanks in advance to any who've taken a moment to help bring greater clarity to this decidedly dicey delineation. It's the first step in better understanding some things in a couple of very significant synastries.
