I did a search on this subject already but didn’t find any responses which really addressed my concern. Anyway, a guy I’ve started seeing and I have a hard Mars/Uranus aspect in synastry:Mars square Uranus orb -0°34' I am the Mars and he is the Uranus. I guess my question is this: Is this relationship doomed because of this aspect? We do have some strong Saturn in play which I’m confused if it makes any difference: Me: Saturn square Jupiter orb -3°06' Him: Saturn trine Neptune orb -0°50' Saturn square Uranus orb -1°50' Saturn sextile Sun orb +2°11' Saturn sextile Pluto orb -1°40' Saturn conjunction Mars orb -9°02' Additionally, we have a nice Sun trine Venus at work, too. I shared this Mars/Uranus squared aspect with someone I dated over 10 years ago wherein I was Uranus. I recall the feelings of intense desire to “escape” from the relationship—feeling smothered by the boundaries and responsibilities. We had minimal Saturn aspects to offset this “need” to flee, so I guess that didn’t help to soothe my feelings of restlessness. So, what do you think about hard Mars/Uranus aspects in synastry... any chance there? IP: Logged |

MARS SQUARE URANUS? OH MY GOD! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! MOVE! CHANGE YOUR NUMBER! GET A RESTRAINING ORDER!Okay. Still with me? If the following sounds a BIT like an over-exaggeration, then we're on the same page. Otherwise, if you've opened a new page to learn how to block his number, clearly the relationship isn't that important to you. For sure, MARS/URA hard aspects are a bit tough to handle, but with emotional maturity, honesty, and integrity, there's not a single aspect that would 'doom' anything. (Which is really my greater point.) URA is going to aggravate MARS by being erratic, possibly flighty, and extremely unpredictable. Whenever I see someone's URA aspecting the other's personal planet closely, I'm very honest about suggesting they keep their 'crazy' in check. Y'know -- don't overreact, try and stay low-key, and cultivate consistency. IP: Logged |

Hahaha!!!! I laughed so hard at this, Aubyanne! Thank you for your input. He’s definitely been erratic, flighty, and unpredictable… my Mars is in Leo and doesn’t like it at all, lol. He runs hot/cold which I find annoying and, later, maddening. (Aggravation, indeed!) I read a handful of interpretations about Mars/Uranus online and some read very serious while others not so much. I'm so not a fan of this Mars/Uranus aspect! IP: Logged |

I have an exact opposition of his Uranus to my Mars. As these are both rulers of our 8th houses, then it adds to the tension. But i can definitely agree with the hot/cold part. I don't know if that can be totally attributed to this single aspect as there are many exact Uranus aspects in our synastry, including hard ones to luminary and angles.
One thing i can say for sure. He has never ever raised his voice on me. (He's got anger issues with whole lot of other people, which doesn't help with maintaining relationships), but me - never. It's strange, given all these tense aspects in our synastry. So i agree that these aspects are not always bad. They can play out in different ways. IP: Logged |

And for the record - My grandparents were together more than 50 years and they had mutual Uranus - Mars in synastry. Mars conjunct Uranus and Mars opposite Uranus in close orbs. IP: Logged |

Or...you have a very energetic relationship and get to see the whole world and have amazing adventures or do some extreme sports together. It is an aspect that requires a lot of action-adventure together. It depends on the rest of the charts. Do you have this aspect in your natals? Post the synastry.------------------ I seem to have loved you in numberless forms... IP: Logged |

That's very interesting, Selene. I wonder if they ended up encouraging each other's freedom. I don't think I've ever experienced a mutual hard Mars/Uranus aspect. (I bet the tension isn't pleasant, though.)

Ooh, I like this interpretation, LeeLoo. No, I don't have this aspect in natal (thankfully). The only hard Uranus aspect I have in natal is the following: Moon opposition Uranus 8.56 Here's the synastry of me and the guy in question (I'm the Libra): IP: Logged | |
