So if for one person the seventh house is activated does the other person feels this? Even when his 7th house is empty from personal planets? And how important are the rulers of the 7th/DSC and 8th. In synastry?

I'm not sure what you're asking. Are you asking if the first person's 7th is activated by the second person's planets, does the first person with an empty 7th feel it? Please clarify.

What I'VE read, and seems backed up by experience, is that the house person feels it more than the planet person. Not to mean that the planet person doesn't feel it.

But what I've gathered is say, Person A has venus in Person B's 8th house. Person B (house) may desire intimacy and physical closeness with Person A.
Person A (planet) may feel very receptive to this.

But that's just the path that my research has led me down.

@peony i meant if the house and planet person both feel it if the 7th house is activated..

@deepfreeze and what about if it conjunct the dsc and falls in the 7th will the planet person feel this?

It is nessesary to have 7th house overlays for a long term relationship?

What is the significance of the 7th house ruler?
For example a guy's DSC is in saggitarius so his 7th house ruler is jupiter and is conjunct a girl's sun..
But the girl's jupiter is unaspected.. If the 7th house ruler has a significance in synastry would it has to be his planet who's aspected or hers? Or could it be both?

I find the 7th house ruler very significant.
For me personally it more likely I fall in love with a person who aspects my 7th house ruler strongly, as opposed to those putting planets into my 7th house. In fact I never even had a crush on someone who had a planet in my 7th house.

But each natal is different. For me the 7th house ruler is aligned with my Sun, with Mars being in the same house. I have a highly focused chart, all personal planets in Sagittarius (Sun, Mercury, Mars), Capricorn(Venus) and Aquarius (Moon).

my 7th house is in Gemini, aspects to my personal planets would have to be oppositions (to Sag), quinkunx (to Venus) or trine (to Moon).

However I am natally a "conjunction-girl" especially when it comes to the Sun, Mercury and Mars, hence oppositions to these planets are not realy feeling magnetic to me, more the opposite.
The trine to Moon would be nice though.

(I do love oppositions to my chartruler Jupiter though, but Jupiter has a bunch of squares in my chart, so I guess he is just used to a bit more energy).

@ceridwin

I have a question about the chart ruler,
For example this guy has gemini rising so his chart ruler is mercury and his 7th house ruler jupiter
Would it have an effect is someone's mercury or jupiter has an aspect to his personal planets? Or only if it's his mercury or jupiter.. Hope you understand the question..

Convention states that the House person is most affected by the Point person, in the manner the point represents, as described by the area represented by the house.

For example, if someone's SUN falls in another's empty 7H, the House individual is going to feel it very intensely, for good or ill.

Will the Point person (in this case, the SUN) feel it as potently? My theories differ from the standard practise, and are based in simple logic. If the Point is impacting the House, it's implied there is an action; the Point is acting upon the area featured by the House, so it's hardly unaffected. The question is -- how?

It's my understanding that the Point is directing the energy towards the activities and areas represented by the House; it's oriented in that fashion.

Is this conscious? That's a better question. In my experience, MOON in 8H overlay is said to be felt strictly by the House person. But I've noticed that the MOON can certainly find that the emotional energy is more intimate, sexualised, and eroticised.

Think of the house as supplying a different energy or being presented in the form of the natural sign. An 8H overlay will attribute and imbue Scorpionic traits to the point overlaying within it. It might pick up elements of jealousy, or possessiveness, and greater emotional intensity, in the presence of the House person.

Now to play devil's advocate ...

It's like a 'permanent transit'. Think of how you feel when the MOON is going through your 5H. It's illuminating your pleasure-loving, theatrical, fun side. You may feel more social, enjoy spending time with kids, creating and recreating.

But what about when your MOON is going through the transiting houses? Do you even notice where your MOON is going? Does it affect you at all? I think this is the logic behind the 'point isn't affected' theory. We can't ask the transiting Houses.

But we can ask the person.

If you do, we tend to find they have SOME stake in it; they DO feel something at least. How, what, and where depends upon the house placement, the interaspects, and the point's natal disposition.

I wouldn't say necessary. Seventh house overlays are indicators of significant relationships, but another's planets in major aspect to your 7th house ruler are also significant.

What is the significance of the 7th house ruler?

For example a guy's DSC is in saggitarius so his 7th house ruler is jupiter and is conjunct a girl's sun..

Your sun conjunct the guy's 7th house ruler, Jupiter, affects him specifically regarding 7th house matters, and how he sees and responds to you as a partner. Your Sun conjunct his Jupiter suggests the response would be very positive in terms of friendship or romance. It's similar in effect to your Sun in his 7th. Aside from considering Jupiter as his 7th house ruler, the Sun-Jupiter conjunction in the synastry would affect you both and be mutually supportive, expansive, upbeat, and generous.

Aubyanne, Me and another person on this forum have both had the same experience with OUR Moon in someone's 4H. We have both been very much affected by the fourth house person, so agreed, it's not just a one way dynamic. Unfortunately, neither of us knows what the house person felt.
