Venus square saturn can indicate a heartbreaks and trials in a relationship. Do the signs of these planets make a difference? I have a confusing relationship with a friend of mine, and we have this aspect in common. I'm the venus in libra and he is the saturn in leo. In our compisite chart, we have sun conjunct venus with a 0 degree orb. This relationship drives mad. There is so much unspoken tension. We are both involved with other people. IP: Logged |

are you sure his saturn is in leo?? bc you have a sextile there, not square (unless you have venus late libra and his saturn early leo...)IP: Logged |

I had this once, her Venus in Libra squared my Saturn in Capricorn..To put it simply, we slowly lost any real affection & playfulness in our relationship. Cold & rigid. But to be fair we really did try our hardest to make it work, even bought a house together.. This aspect can be good for marriages I've heard... IP: Logged |

The venus libra is 29deg 29' (in the 8th house) and the leo saturn is 1 deg 09' retrograde (5th house maybe)IP: Logged |

hmm... my parents have this. They stayed together -no matter what- and some of those things... I wouldn't have stayed with anyone if they'd done what my dad did to her.IP: Logged |

Sorry I just realized how unrelated that was lol. I think saturn can keep you attached to that person but yeah that's not the only thing at play here, obviously.IP: Logged |

I have this aspect in my relationship, but we are no where near cold or rigid towards each other, and we have tons of affection. We kiss and hug fairly often, and I don't feel there is any limit to our love yet... well, SOMEtimes I can feel a bit dry towards him (I'm saturn) like there is a wall, and I fear being really affectionate towards him... but it only last for a short time, and then I'm usually super affectionate and soft towards him again... it can feel, like it is hard to fully express my feelings because they are so intense, and I feel like I should control myself a little... but usually this is just a minor problem! Our aspect is also quiet lose, it's 5 degrees wide... I think maybe the aspect should be within 3 degrees to really count. We also got venus square jupiter, and venus conjunction mars As long as you got some jupiter-venus/sun/moon then it should be fine - you wouldn't be able to keep your affectionate side in control with such aspect Jupiter would eventually feel the need to nurture and spoil, no matter how hardcore your saturn aspect is IP: Logged |

From personal experience with this aspect in synastry, a six degree orb is very much felt. So, I don't buy the idea that anything wider than three degrees is "weak" or "doesn't count." "Venus square saturn can indicate a heartbreaks and trials in a relationship. Do the signs of these planets make a difference?" It can, that's true. But it can also indicate a difference in ages or obstacles to getting together. Or, when Saturn is the man and Venus the woman, it can manifest as the man being critical of the woman's femininity. If a person has a natal Venus conjunct or in hard aspect to Saturn and has it in synastry with a partner, how this plays out in synastry depends on how they relate to this energy in the natal, and how self-aware or mature a person is, and the overall strength of the synastry. I would say a Venus-Saturn square in fixed signs may be the most challenging, but then is probably the most enduring as well. I have a friend who has had Venus-Saturn in hard aspect in her most significant relationships, including one marriage, and she has remained friends for decades long after the romantic relationship ended.
