My South Node trines his Pluto, 1 degree.
My North Node sextiles his Pluto, 1 degree.
His South Node sextiles my Pluto, 1 degree.
His North Node trines my Pluto, 1 degree.

We are not the same age. We are about 10 years and several months apart in age.

Are we both here to give each other hard lessons from some past karma?

In addition, my Mars conjuncts his South Node in a 1 degree orb and my Mars opposes his North Node in a 1 degree orb.

The DW of Mars to the nodes is the significant aspect here. the trines/ sextiles not so much.

unless of course your trines/ sextiles of Pluto to NN are in the complmentary phase, in this instance there would be a conjunction of Pluto to either the NN or SN, and then that would be very significant.

It's less the PLUTO soft aspects than the MARS conjunct SNODE (1º) that could be indicating an unresolved karma. Of course, greater investigation of the synastry is needed.
