I trust synastry much, much, much more. I look at the Comp as an after thought. I know many people don't agree.I think the synastry will play out. The Comp does have value as MORE info but the primary info is in the synastry imo ------------------

They are equally accurate since they are both based upon the natal charts of each person. Neither is more important than the other, because they describe different things. The Composite is the chart of the relationship itself, as an entity of its own. Synastry is about how each person affects the other. IP: Logged |

So what do you do when there are polarities between synastry and composite?? I don't get how onc can be so different from the other. It's a put off...which it really shoudn't be.IP: Logged |

Ami and Delilah made good points. I also look to the synastry first. The energies are incorporated into the bodies--and will always be interactive. Midpoint composite is once removed from the actual physical source field energies. But there would be no midpoint without two individual corporeal primary planetary endpoints. Synastry birth placements have already been in effect within each partner body--before any relationship composite comes into play. IP: Logged |

I believe they're both interchangeable.The composite chart shows what the synastry chart created. The energies between two people ultimately create a relationship (friendship, lover, parent, child, etc) which is expressed through a composite chart. A composite, in my opinion, is the sum of the energies of two people and the composite chart highlights the key themes that will ultimately play out. I say ultimately because a lot of people act a certain way or do things to hide their true selves at the start of a relationship which inevitably modifies the synastry UNTIL all of the newness is gone and two people actually interact and therefore see each other for who they really are. This is when the composite takes affect because now the synastry can play out exactly how it's meant to play out without free will and conscious decision-making that usually plays out at the beginning of a relationship. To me, you've just described moon sign synastry.

I have felt the composite in many circumstances...
Even with people I wasn't in a serious relationship with or living together. In my experience... when the composite is great... by which I mean having a stellium involving the personal planets - the synastry is not -all that- relevant.
You can have negative aspects in the synastry or even unaspected planets - and still feel very close to that person and feel like you have a lot in common. When the reverse happens.. so the synastry looks fantastic - but the composite is disjointed - with planets all over the place (no conjunctions, no close aspects, unaspected Moon or Venus and other "nasties"..) - then the relationship fizzles out. So I would actually give the composite slightly more importance. But both are important. IP: Logged |
