Which one is best to have do you think?

Me and my boyfriend got sun opp. moon both ways (he is early libra sun, and pisces moon) I am virgo sun and late pisces moon(29 degrees)

I think we have a huge ping-pong going on sometimes, we can go from laughing all day long and having a passionate romance, to really kinda be tired of each other and wanting alone time (at least I want a lot of alone time often, and he usually make excuses to be alone)

And with the conjunction I see people more like melting together and maybe being a little more peaceful together instead of being hot/cold all the time...

what do you think, and would you prefer the conjunction or opposition between sun-moon in synastry?

I think it's hard to say which on is best to have coz different people may need different things.

Personally, I like the opposition better, but not opposition both ways like what you have with your guy coz I know from experience that I don't handle them well. You seem to have it under control, dang.

I used to "know" a guy with libra sun oppose my aries moon, cancer moon oppose my cap sun. On top of that, his sun square my sun exact. Amazing sparks at the beginning. His mars conjunct my venus, his venus sextile mine but even those couldn't save the sparks from turning into a big fire and burning the whole thing to ashes.

I felt that he gave me the qualities that I wanted but didn't have. He felt the same. But because those qualities felt strange to us we didn't quite know how to live with them and eventually they got on our nerves. It was a mix of admiration and annoyance/anger.

PLus he has a cardinal cross in his chart so yeah I think the synastry aspects sort of triggered it.

My husband's libra sun also oppose my aries moon. I'm "too impatient, too much" for him sometimes, but even when I get annoyed at his "too slow, too calm" attitude, I know I need it. His virgo moon trine my cap sun - most of the time it's smooth sailing for us.

The conjunction feels like meh to me. It's good in friendship, but yeah, most of the time our energies feel too "alike" to be anything more than friends.

Libra Moon is opposite my Aries Sun. First wife's natal Moon was exactly opposite my Sun--and it was like instant attraction and love at first sight. Glorious bond, we were inseparable for 7 years.

Aries Moon strikes me as hyper emotionally. So maybe it's all about which specific signs are involved in the conjunction or opposition.

Both are great...it all depends on the best placement for you (geometry + preferred overlays)

sun opposite moon was a life changing experience for me. it was the first time i felt i could actually spend the rest of my days with someone. like thinking “where have you been all this time?”. very difficult to let go if it goes wrong.

sun conjunct moon is something i only had in friendship.

i’d say any contact between sun and moon is powerful.

Interesting that most people described oppositions as more significant. My experience is similar. I never had a Sun/Moon conjunction with someone, but I had Sun/Moon opposition with a man I was ready to spend my life with. His Moon also conjunct my Asc, opposite my Sun.

In my experience, sun opposite moon feels more like a natural partnership, and tends to point to some form of longevity (though I’ve experienced this aspect multiple times, I’ve only experienced it with my sun and their moon).

If someone’s moon is conjunct my sun, it might be mildly pleasant but it doesn’t do much for me.

When someone’s sun conjuncts my moon, I automatically really like them, definitely swoon-inducing. BUT, I’ve noticed that I’m the more affected one in the connection. These connections feel powerful but don’t necessarily last (even though I’m pretty sure that’s blasphemy re: the conventional wisdom)

I really believe it depends on the nature of the moon and sun being aspected and their natal aspects.

I also believe whether the aspect is applying or separating matters also.

There are a ton of factors to consider in relation to a Sun/Moon aspect in synastry. It’s like if it’s good, it’s great. If it’s not, it’s not. Another user in a similar thread described the Sun/Moon conjunction as a potential “false sense of closeness” and I believe that’s the best way to describe it if were discussing one of the possible negative manifestations of this aspect.

I’ve had a ton of guys on my moon and one of those had their entire stellium on it as well and I was eventually turned off/ blocked/ repulsed by either the situation and/ or person.

I find guys on my moon too feminine. They’re usually just.. like.. me… which is not attractive considering my mars and Venus need a more Scorpion/Sagittarius type lol.

I met a guy a few years ago whose Moon was on my Sun almost exact (APPLYING) and I still think about him present day. and we never got to know each other on a personal level.. never even hung out.. just exchanged numbers, exchanged a few words, and that was basically it. I was definitely more interested in him than he was in me. It was a weird vibe. Almost like I could tell he was misjudging me based on my appearance at that time.. but I WAS going through a rather “transitory” period so I get it. Ha.

I can’t really speak on the opposition although I do have this aspect with my father and one guy I had a serious “situationship” with back when I was a freshman in college. I would say it feels like what you described, though, based on my limited observation/ experience. There’s always a push-pull, hot-cold type of energy that’s exciting, but also generates a lot of tension/ irritability. It feels way better than the Sun/Moon square in synastry, though, which is just a constant irritability/ struggle.. imo. Very hard to communicate with the square if no other aspects support it.

Point is.. whether the opposition or conjunction is “better” really depends on you and the other person’s needs and what you two create when you come together.
