Venus is in the 11th so what would be a preference my first thought was that's a strong Venus ruled by Venus so he would want a beautiful Venusian type woman?;

Yes, very Venusian. Venus in the 11th would have preferences toward Aquarian qualities (social/humanitarian) and the moon in Gemini would like wit, humor, flirtiness etc.)
