I was studying the chart of the day I met my son's dad and found the following:

My progressed Mercury was conjunct his Vertex

Also, his progressed Vertex was conjunct my natal Mars

Anyway, I recently met someone and my Progressed Moon is conjunct his Natal Vertex - I knew something *felt* cool when we met Maybe it's this aspect?

Anyway, I hadn't thought to look to the Vertex until I saw a video discussing it on Youtube - anyway, thought that was neat & wanted to share

Anyone else notice trends with the Vertex in charts with significant people in your life?

The activations to the Vertex (and it's opposite the Antivertex) can indicate significant changes and events in our lives. The thing with progressions though is that they are temporary. The means that when the progression passes the connection may fade if that's all it's based on.

Having said that, most relationships are based on more then one factor. But if a new crush is based on this type of progression alone it may not last. Same thing if you have a friend that you were never really attracted to before and then you suddenly start crushing. Beware. If this is based on progressions (of the Vertex Axis or the planets) it may eventually fade back to normality. It's best if such attractions also show in natal to natal synastry, or you may be left wondering what happened.

SHORT EXPLAINATION OF THE VERTEX AXIS

The Vertex Axis as whole is said to be in charge of synchronicity and ‘fated’ events. Most people have a subjective sense of what’s important to them in a ‘fateful’ sort of way, and what is not… Often we assign some type of pivotal meaning to the things that touch our Vertex Axis. But because this is such a subjective thing it’s hard to define in terms of external significance, rather the Vertex Axis gives certain type of internal feeling. The feeling that we’ve found something that resonates with us in a very personal way, something that helps to make some type of important change in direction.

Also…

There is a difference between the Vertex and the Antivertex in meaning. This is an angle pair like the Nodes. Each end has it's separate meaning in relation to the same theme (fateful changes).

The Antivertex (opposite the Vertex) is represents those fated events that we already hope for or fear. A change of direction inspired by the Antivertex transits or synastry usually involves encountering some scenario we already have strong thoughts and feelings about manifesting in our lives. Something that was previously only in our minds comes into our reality. This can be in a good way or a difficult way. For instance, if we always suspected we’d fall in love with a sensitive, brooding type that collects weird art pieces, an Antivertex transit or synastry could bring this dream into reality. Alternatively, if we always had a fear having a certain private secret of ours gossiped about, an Antivertex transit or synastry could potentially fear into reality as well. The Antivertex is associated with uncanny events in our lives where we see dreams or fears from the recesses of our minds popping into our real lives. This can be a really small incident or a melodramatic ordeal, either way you tend to get the feeling that you always knew that this certain thing was going to happen someday. Kind of like a premonition coming true.

The Vertex is opposite the Antivertex and has an opposite meaning. Fated events associated with the Vertex involves things happening that we never could have envisioned in a million years. Connections to the Vertex in transits and synastry surprise us with unexpected outcomes, and random out-of-the-blue incidents. The Vertex as an angle is where we get introduced to new directions and possibilities that had not occurred to us previously. These things often alter our life path in some way, and cause us to reconsider our position on various issues. I’ll give an example, lets say that a person is a hard core scientist and doesn’t believe in anything metaphysical, then one day they visit their friend who lives in a haunted house and see a spirit. Because this person doesn’t believe in spirits they never expected to actually encounter one, so you can imagine he shock experienced when they do. The Vertex is a jolt of electricity that brings game-changers into our world. Our view of life is never quite the same afterwards. As with the Antivertex, these game-changers can be small or large. What’s important is the way they impact our perspective, and how we personally feel about what happened.

To keep it simple, the Antivertex is associated with fated events that seems to have emanated from our very own set of hopes, inklings, and fears. And the Vertex is associated with fated events that surprise us into looking at life in a new way.
