5 Astraea (Greek): Astraea is the Greek Goddess of innocence and purity. From www.nationmaster.com/encyclo...hology): In Greek mythology, Astraea ("star-maiden") was a daughter of Zeus and Themis or of Eos and Astraeus. She and her mother were both personifications of justice. Astraea was the last of the immortals to live with humans during the Golden Age. As mankind became wicked, she was the last to stay on earth, ascending to heaven to become the constellation Virgo; the scales of justice she carried became the nearby constellation Libra. She is also the symbol for the Tarot Card Justice. **************************************** Astraea was a daughter of Zeus and Themis, or according to others, of Astraeus by Eos. During the golden age, this star-bright maiden lived on earth and among men, whom she blessed; but when that age had passed away, Astraea, who tarried longest among men, withdrew, and was placed among the stars. She was the virgin-Goddess of justice. During the Golden Age she dwelt upon the earth with mankind, but was driven away by the lawlessness of the later Bronze Age. Zeus then placed her amongst the stars and became the constellation Virgo the Virgin. She was closely identified with Dike, the Goddess of justice, and with Nemesis, the Goddess of rightful indignation. Sacred candle color: white. Astraea is associated with December. **************************************** Pemo Theodore: "Astraea: Balanced sexuality. A time and place for sex and part of life with a partner. Imagination brings variety and difference to sexual play. Make sure this creativity is used and routine is varied, as routine can be where one ends up." David Campbell: "Astraea: Means “star.” Astraea was the last Goddess to leave earth. As the Goddess of justice, innocence, and purity, she became the constellation Virgo. Theme: not letting go soon enough, problems with closure. She is associated with eyesight." Martha Lang-Wescott: "Astraea: Blocked closure; staying to “the end” (the sometimes bitter end believing that “it ain't over 'til it's over”—even if it already is; an inability to read beginnings and endings or to “let go” of things, people or events; the witnessing of events." ******************************-***-*--************** My boyfr. Is conj.Sun by 2 deg. And conj. My Saturn exact . We definately don't want to let go( I am not naive we have more stronger combinations) ....just thought it was an interesting asteroid since it means star -maiden . His Astraea squares my sun and we have expressed to each other repeatedly our unwillingness to part. He also gets my astrology fascination and pretty much respects it, although he is skeptical. We also have a Mercury double whammy. Quintile my Merc. Trine his Merc. Prbably why we talk so much. What we say to each other has a strong affect on our relationship- negative AND positive.

I'm bumping this thread because I'm growing curious whether Astraea in synastry describes at all the way your partner(s), friends, etc. respond to your penchant for astrology. I'm feeling somehow like it may specifically apply to this, as the poster above felt.IP: Logged |

ASTRAEA lets us hang on -- even to the most bitter end. MLW says 'it ain't over 'til it's over.' ASTRAEA tends to stay past the point when it was prudent to leave. But, in some cases, that kind of loyalty can pay off.IP: Logged |

I'm bringing this one back to the top for discussion.I have Astraea conjunct my Mars and S. Node in natal. I find that those who conjunct or square it tightly with any personal planet or angle, I tend to hold on to those relationships waaaay longer than I should, and vice versa. The outer planets don't appear to hold me to the person. Take a look at your relationships. Do you find the same? IP: Logged |

There's an interesting theme here with squares. I have Astraea conjunct Jupiter and someone I'm looking at has Astraea conjunct his Venus, squaring my Astraea/Jupiter IP: Logged |
