Let's discuss synastry placements that come into play with age gap romantic relationships.

Outer planets define certain generations. For example: Pluto and Neptune change signs roughly every 20 years. From mid 1940's through 2030's, they are in sextile. There's Leo Pluto/Libra Neptune for Boomers. Then Virgo Pluto/Scorpio Neptune for Hippie Generation. Next Libra Pluto/Sagittarius Neptune Generation X. After that, Scorpio Pluto/Capricorn Neptune Millennials.

Note there's a natural resonance between one generation and the second one after: about 40-50 year age gap. Is this why grandparents and grandchildren may get along better than parents and children?

We share outer planets within our own generation; this bodes well for those who have good aspects between inner and outer planets. But others with challenging inner to outer planet aspects may find greater harmony outside their own generation.

Strong Saturn can incline one to seek company of older more mature people. Saturn well aspected in 7th House helps the native to form relationships with older and more experienced partners. Saturn in 11th House can attract older friends.

Strong Venus and Venus well aspected in 7th House may indicate younger partners. I have this natally.

I have found that men and women with Venus in aspect to Saturn tend to be with someone either much younger or much older.

Yes, AtheneGoddess. I just thought of Uranus, which changes signs about every 7 years, also resonating cross generations at approximately 21 years (Uranus sextile Uranus).

I have venus in the 7th and I'm seldom attracted to people younger than me and the few times i have been my interest fizzled fast when they said or did something to remind me how much younger they are.

Im more attracted to people much older probably because pluto in leo lands on my sun and neptune in libra is the same sign as my moon although my moon is in late libra.

Ive noticed i tend to clash with pluto in virgo people a lot.

I am usually a fan of consenting age gaps between two mentally well-rounded people. The oldest I've ever dated was someone 21 years older than me, the oldest I've ever considered was someone 31 years older than me. My boyfriend of 3 years is 12 years older than me.

As a Pluto Scorpio/Neptune Capricorn millenial I've always felt a huge affinity for the Pluto in Virgo generation. Those born around 1968 in particular have their Uranus exactly conjunct my ASC in Virgo. That aside, those born in the early to mid 60's have their Pluto opposite my Mars and it can make for invigorating/enchanting banter.

My Cap Saturn (H4) in my chart makes a 1° trine to my Taurus Sun (H9). That gives me an edge with people older than me as I'm rather Saturnine and our energies blend well. They don't grate on me as "stuffy" and I don't deplete their patience with general flippancy.

The ruler of my 7th is a Capricorn Neptune which makes the tightest aspect in my chart (a square) with my Venus in the 7th (0'07°)

The ruler of my 5th house is also in the 4th house of Capricorn and is opposite Jupiter in the 10th (the traditional house of Capricorn, plus in Vedic Jupiter is seen as the symbolic "husband"). Saturn is definitely everywhere in my natal, and as such, is the 3rd most active planet there.

My Vedic chart definitely points to the propensity for older partners a little better. I recently paid to get a consult by a renowned Vedic astrologer and he apologetically predicted my future spouse would be 6-9 years older than me. Quite tame by my standards so far

The largest age gap relationship I've had was with a 36 years younger partner who proposed marriage after a sizzling courtship. She's a Libra Pluto/Sag Neptune gen X-er whose Pluto and Vertex conj my Neptune, and Neptune conj my Jupiter.

I love the Capricorn Uranus--Neptune generation. My dance group is full of them. I'm a total Swiftie, and her BFF Karlie Kloss was born on my ideal lifemate birthdate!

I used to crush on much older men when I was young...Marlon Brando in Superman (white hair) was my first celebrity crush, that I recall.

My husband is 18 years older. We have Venus-Saturn and Venus-Uranus natally and in synastry.

I have a wide (6 degree) Venus-Neptune conjunction. I think it became problematic with men my own age...it's really no fun playing Venus to someone's Neptune. So I would be leery of that if I were single again.

I like older men. I have a wide Opposition from Venus to Saturn/Uranus.

By progression its now getting closer. I have dated someone much older than me.

I think my Capricorn Moon attracts older men to me as well.

Plus I wasn't freaked out by your year of birth or anything. I don't have any issue with age.

Also I think the age of the soul matters more than anything in terms of compatibility.

My 5th House Vertex at 17 Capricorn. My Aquarius 7th House is co-ruled by Uranus and Saturn. Natal Uranus conj 11th House cusp. Their Scorpio Pluto around my IC/South Node and in 4th House, square my Leo stellium. North Nodes in my natal 7th, 6th, 5th, 4th Houses. Tay Tay's SN conj my natal Mars! Karlie's SN conj my natal Moon, and her NN conj my Jupiter.

Oh no! That's such a bummer about your friend and her buddy, Faith. I notice Neptune always plays so heavily into these age dynamics.. in the composite chart with the person 31 years older than me, we have Neptune conjunct the NN. Psychic intuitions? Finishing each other's bizarre sentences? Mutual mundane dreams about one another on a nightly basis? Check, check, check! It's an extremely intoxicating, soul-matey vibe.. for sure requires the utmost honesty and best behavior on the part of both partners. Goes without saying but those that can handle such potent energy are few and far in between :\

OH. But Marlon just had that potent martian energy about him at any age didn't he?! Sun/Moon in virile Aries with a Mars in Capricorn... *paws at the air* rawr!

I'm pretty sure watching Last Tango in Paris at 16 did something irreparable to my psyche

Faith, Neptune is higher octave of Venus. I have Vertex conj Neptune with ideal mate birthdate, and with Karlie.

"Neptune-Vertex/Anti-Vertex: The Vertex person is magically drawn to the Neptune person. The Vertex person easily “loses” herself in the Neptune person, and feels as though the Neptune person fulfills their innermost dreams and fantasies of the perfect mate. This is a highly spiritual, magnetic, and dreamy relationship."

Karlie is quite the babe, definitely. Interesting you'd opt for her Sun/Venus/Mercury on your Mars/Saturn/Pluto.. that'd be a ride and then some, eh?

I must say when I date intergenerationally I love going for men with Scorpio placements to fall on my Pluto. Activates a type of energy that's incomparable to anything else. Plus it's always fun being a Pluto in any type of romantic situation.. for strategic reasons

Karlie's not my ideal mate, but being so close, she rings a lot of bells! Yes, wild ride, and of course I would love to meet her. My beloved first wife has Pluto conj my Leo Mars rising: Tantric swoon!

Jack and I defy our generations. We both bebop between being more situated to earlier ones. He's almost Silent Generation, while I resonate with a lot of Boomer traits. And then we often somehow tend to meet in the middle, vibing to a kind of mid-'60s groove, or jumping the century and behaving positively postmodern Victorian.

I guess we're ... timeless.

There are a few 'telltale' signs I've noted in his natal, indicative that he would be with someone considerably younger, even if he barely notices and often forgets it. (Outside of calling me 'kiddo', at times, but it's more a nod to one of our favourite romantic films, Casablanca. I grok it.)

He's got that NABOKOV on his MOON. Mmm-hmm. Yes, yes, he does. MERC is in his 8H, but rules his 7H. That hints at a younger partner in some respects. But it's more circumstantial than preferential. He certainly never sought younger partners. He naturally assumed he'd settle down with a compatriot, just like his peers, back in his twenties. Did not happen.

As for me, I've got that 5R SATURN, of course, in my 1H -- and conjunct my ALMA-JUNO. Guess I was rather destined for it, too. My husband is seven years my senior. He never notices, either. Nobody ever realises my age. I'd had several younger boyfriends in high school and college, but never more than a few years.

Funny, it never even really occurred to me how significant a 14-year gap is. Perhaps because we don't have 'age-gap problems'. Our favourite genre of music is progressive rock -- we're both self-described Floydians. We love the same shows; I 'grew up' with '60s television, finding it more to my taste than what was airing in the early '90s. Just happened that way. So we're Trekkies, and love The Prisoner, and a lot of my personal style came from Emma Peel. See? It's hard to pigeonhole me into a generation -- especially my own.

I've got a bit more of a handle on the new tech than he does, being a slightly more recent digital immigrant, but other than that, it isn't a noticeable thing. He's still very old-fashioned in a lot of ways, and so long as it isn't impractical, I find it deeply endearing.

These tend to be the biggest, slowly eroding issues for May-December couples. When you share pop culture, are aware of all that came before you, and have a genuine respect for the history, it's not an issue. It's when he likes Glen Miller, and she's never even heard Big Band, or her personal style is so far outside of what he finds attractive or even comfortable that you run the risk of it being a 'rebellious relationship'. He's feeling old, trying to recapture his youth, she's young and fun, and the thing they most have in common is sex. Or her appreciation for his money. (Hey, it's true!)

Just my thoughts.

We were unable to 'Swiftie-ise' when she failed rather noticeably to accompany Stevie Nicks on an old Fleetwood tune. I'd really been hoping she'd've nailed it, too. McVie doesn't seem a stretch for her own range. Nope. Did not happen. And thus, we're politely in support of Taylor as a person, and enjoy some of her musical offerings. Just not many.

My own musical tastes are all over the place, with a deep love of classic rock. Gimme the mid '60s to late '70s, and I'm thrilled. Never tire of the sound. Never will. Those early Jim Morrison recordings where he's just riffing with and independently of The Doors. Hendrix jamming. All the Moody Blues. Page and Plant's timeless -- if somewhat plagiarised, heh -- sound. And, mmmm. Burton Cummings. Him and Justin Hayward. In vocal heaven!

Anyhow. Had to toss that out there.

Sometimes true....

But that is so depressing, when we reduce it down to that.

PS I love Pink Floyd and The Prisoner. Patrick McGoohan is another older man I have liked, I mean he never got old, even when he was.

Moon in aspect to Uranus for me. That's all that I can think of. Though my current synastry has a lot of Uranus involvement. Otherwise in synastry, I'm not sure because I've attracted from 5 years older down to 20 years younger.
Most common is 10-15 years younger.

For me, it's her beautiful soul. The musical style is incidental. Although her rocker girl personna jumps out and grabs me. :O Sends me straight into the Vortex!

My own musical tastes span the centuries and the globe: including Baroque, Chants, Blues (esp acoustic Delta, John Lee Hooker, Bonnie Raitt), Bluegrass (Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss), Celtic music, Indian ragas, Classic Rock (Chuck Berry, Little Richard, The Eagles, Rolling Stones, Mark Knopfler, Dire Straits, Credence Clearwater), Country Western (Hank Williams, Jimmie Rodgers, Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson), New Age Space Music (Enya, Kitaro).
