If you are interested in feedback, I'll try to give you a (hopefully) brief synopsis of this relationship.

They met online in their early 20's and it was an instant recognition/familiarity of his voice from her end without even seeing his face, almost like she knew him in a past life. Their friendship quickly blossomed and were very good long-distance friends for almost 2 years before it became anything serious. One of those friends you could sit on the phone with for hours, sometimes not even talking. They finally decided to meet in person and it went off without a hitch, so they began officially dating soon after. They dated long-distance for a year, and then she made the decision to move to his country/city to be together. He actually works in IT for the US military, and she in hospitality. She is university educated, and he is not. Intellectuals...I wouldn't say that necessarily. I think work was important for both of them individually and they respected/supported each other's goals, but more than anything else they were really good FRIENDS and got along extremely well, which other people could see. The affection was steady, easy and flowing and they had similar senses of humor. Also, there was a very high level of trust and security (which made the long-distance aspect possible).

They dated for almost 3 years total before she made the decision to move back home. Over time the physical attraction and passion faded and it became almost too platonic. She also felt like his "mother" in a lot of ways because he was a little younger and more immature than she was and so she felt she had little to learn from him. She wanted more of a challenge and someone who could teach her a few things. He was also very indecisive about his life path which drove her nuts.
