... because for me, they don't seem to work in synastry. For example, someone's Sun is right on my Venus/Juno midpoint and I don't feel desire to marry him And when I was looking up my Nessus midpoints (to see, if they're activated by planet's of people I've been obsessed with), I found out, that Sun of two guys is on my Eros/Nessus midpoint. And no, I don't feel urge to rip their clothes off them :PAlso, another guy is having his Venus and Mercury on my Venus/Mars. I don't feel very sexually attracted to him, to be honest... (and Mars is the ruler of my 5th, by the way!) Is it because his Venus is more than 1 degree from that midpoint? So, I would like to know...do Midpoints in synastry work for you? IP: Logged |

Yes, they work superbly for me, but they have to be seen in the context of the whole aspect-configuration. and yes, midpoints need to be very close in orb. IP: Logged |

Thanks for answer, Ceri Maybe I'm totally stupid, but...What do you mean by that? That the planets making the midpoint should already make ptolemaic aspect in natal? Or someone's planet on my midpoint being part of their natal grand square? IP: Logged |

Those planetary configurations (like a Yod or Grand square) in tight orbs,t hat result in a midpoint I have always found to be "there", almost like a laserbeam focusing the energy onto the midpoint. It does not even have to be a ptolemaic aspectconfiguration. If you have a Quintile Yod or a septile one or a novile one, these work strongly too. However it is never an easy equation like Venus/Juno= your Sun - makes me want to marry you. This might be the case in some cases, but is not a given. All we can say is that the Sun directs the attention to the Venus/Juno-combo and what it means to you. It might also activate any kind of issues yuo may have concerning the balance between lover (Venus) and marriage partner (Juno), depending on what aspect there is natal between Venus and Juno. I know a guy who has Venus opposite Juno, now imagine what would happen if someone put a planet on the midpoint (which would make a T-square), she would very strongly activate that Venus/Juno-aspect for him. Doesn`t mean he would want to marry her, maybe he would feel a strong inner tension between what in a woman he is drawn to erotically and what he wants in a marriage, and that is not the same. Well she could help him to integrate it, but this would be a process that would take a long time, and no, I don`t believe it would evoke an instant "Oh I want to marry you" feeling. Though itīs hard to imagine Venus/Juno-not coinciding with some kind of attraction, provided it is a very close midpoint-activation AND probably that there is some kind of aspect between them (Though I am strongly drawn to my Venus/mars-mp without Venus and Mars being in aspect - oh wait, no it`s not true, they are semisextile. lol)

So, when I have for example Sun on someone's Venus/Pluto midpoint, and their Venus doesn't make any aspect with Pluto, they won't feel it then? They would only feel it if those two planets were in aspect with each other in natal or be a part of Yod or something like that?IP: Logged |

They would feel it more strongly or it would be a stronger theme in the synastry, but possibly they still would feel the energy of it even without those direct aspects. Well I do at least. Question is how do they feel it? And do they like what they feel? IP: Logged |

Say for example: a woman's Sun activated a man's Sun/Moon midpoint by opposition, but imagine she also had her Venus trine his Sun/Moon midpoint. Does the fact that the opposition from her Sun activates his Sun/Moon midpoint mean then the Venus trine on his midpoint is also felt? (since the midpoint is activated already?)IP: Logged |

OP i have to agree with you that to me in synastry the only midpoint i see doing anything real is the sun moon midpoint.People that wind up being more than just passing scenery to you it seems. IP: Logged |

Yeah, Sun/Moon works exceptionally well for me. Do you have any aspect between those two? I have square. And I've heard somewhere that if you have square between Sun and Moon, and someone's planet sits on their midpoint, you can find peace thanks to that person Something like that... Someone I have my eyes on has his Venus on my Sun/Moon mp (my South node is there too!) IP: Logged |

Thank you so much Ceri! Hmm, I vould like to know if asteroid/asteroid midpoints are valid, whether in natal or synastry. Since there are sooo many of them... Because when I was checking out Nessus in man who has difficulcity to control his impulses (well, especially sexual ones) I've found out, that he has Sun opposite Eros/Nessus mp IP: Logged |

I have venus on my sun moon midpoint, natally.
I've had peoples planets and luminaries land there, and ive had my moon land right on someone's sun moon midpoint.
