I know Magi Astrology hates hard Chiron aspects, but is it possible for Chiron square Moon in synastry to actually strengthen the moon person when they have 0 hard aspects to their moon natally (but a lot of natal trines and sextiles to the moon)?

I had an instant connection with somebody whose Sun/Pluto conjuncts my moon & our moons also trine (all of these aspects within 2 degrees). His friends told me that the moment we met he was obsessed with me - and to be fair, so was I. Pluto really pulled us in, even if I tried to resist. But his Chiron also squares my moon (and his own sun) and my Chiron conjuncts his moon. I moved shortly after we met and every day I have to make huge efforts to distract myself from thoughts of him. We have not kept in touch, which ultimately has been healthier for me in the long run and forces me to be productive, but that doesn't stop me from hoping for a reunion!

I want to believe that the people you make connections with are "brought" to you so that you can better yourself (and vice versa of course). And to make this question even longer/more complicated, would Saturn aspects help with Chiron aspects, ie serving as glue when things start to break apart? His Saturn trines my Venus and my Saturn opposes his moon and sextiles his Sun (again, these are all in tight orbs). I know this relationship would cause a lot of emotional ups and downs from all these lunar aspects, but it could also be a learning experience? But theoretically, could Saturn help make it something long term despite the nature of Chiron?

Chiron-Moon double whammy could be extremely enticing/deeply permeating feelings of strong love, and healing theoretically if there is a lot of harmony and a commitment to emotional support--which you have good aspects for. The square will necessitate the examination and challenging/revelation of any hard/painful emotions he does have.. with few natal squares to the moon i could see this being beneficial to him somehow if also uncomfortable... Sounds like he's going through some pain himself already from the separation?... and you need to be a wise healer and caring for him with the unconditional love chiron is capable of.

I don't know about glue exactly--the relationship will have a better chance of you stay in touch though

Chiron pains anything it touches. It will bring up old wounds, and it will be like a hot iron pressed on them. And it might not even be intentional but that is often what will happen unless a lot of great, feel good aspects go to both your moons to offset this. I am talking about Moon-Venus, Moon-Jupiter, Moon-Sun, Moon-IC, Moon-Moon etc. Since it's a DW, it will predominate much of your emotional interaction.

We cannot say if Saturn will offset this. What is the rest of the synastry like?

It sounds like you are finding reasons to keep him no matter what... Pluto can do that.
Saturn is generally considered glue but if the relationships down in the toilet, the glue wouldn't be very good to have. Good glue would depend on if there's enough incentive to be in the relationship despite any difficulties. So just weigh up the cost vs. benefit and you will have an answer so honest--probably one that's better than any we could give you. To be honest, you need to look past the obsession.

Thank you for the replies! It's good to have objective opinions on this - I really don't want to lose myself to the Pluto conjunction just yet. We didn't get much time together before my move to get a good feel for any unhealthy aspects between us, so it's hard to for me to know if whatever between us is worth walking away from or not. Other than the wonderful memories of staying up until dawn with him, I don't have anything else to go off of other than the charts.

I have been making strides in working past the Moon/Pluto obsessive feeling to the point where I feel that if I met "someone new," or found that he moved on, I'd be able to let go and move forward. But since I moved for career purposes, things have been going poorly and I may be moving back. I let him know in a quick text and he may be visiting before my move in summer. But I think we're both still being very wary of each other. Like we both have walls up that we're gradually taking down. It doesn't help that he's the first guy in over 4 years I've let come near me (I'm bad at this wall thing). I guess that's why I had to ask about Chiron.

In Moon Square Chiron, is it the moon feeling inflicted the most pain or Chiron? Since it's a DW we both will be going through quite a bit, but if I'm the one feeling the square more as the moon I'd feel better about the situation. I have Jupiter and Chiron trine and Saturn sextile my moon natally, so having one square to my moon feels tolerable? Or maybe I'm underestimating Chiron. Every major relationship I've had in the past involved a guy's Mars squaring my moon and I've never enjoyed it.

My Jupiter also conjuncts his moon, but then receives a square from my Mars. But he has Mars conjunct Moon natally, so he might be more tolerating of it? Ah, here's our synastry! We also have an exact NN and Neptune conjunct in the 7th House in our composite, which I haven't been able to figure out. I have so much Neptune/12 House stuff going on in my own chart, but it's still lost on me.
