I haven't used this site in a very long time, so sorry if this is the wrong board to be posting this question.

We have been together about 3 years now and I've honestly never thought anyone could understand me as well as he does.

Is there anything in the charts regarding this?

I think of the 8th house as the house of controversies and things that people don't want to converse on.

When it rules the 3rd house, there is a need for one to connect with another both in an intellectual and emotional way with these matters.

Now he has the ruler of the 8th house(Moon) in the 8th house. Boom!!!

So he is completely at home with what you mostly think about/what occupies your emotional mind. Because it occupies his emotional space too.

I would also add that the Sun/Mercury/Venus/Mars stellium in 9th couldn't hurt in making that Moon in your 3rd house feel so attended to intellectually.

Oh and come on. That stellium conjunct your Sun (also in 9th). Really??

You are fortunate to have someone "recognize" you both from an emotional point of view(8th house connection) as well as from the ego point of view(Sun).

And my goodness!The ruler of his 3rd (Jupiter)house is in the 4th house. And you have Moon in 3rd.

He thinks(3rd) about emotional security(4th) quite a bit. But with Jupiter in the 4th and ruling the 3rd, it's unlikely to be melancholic.It is more likely intellectual.

You also think about your emotional nature a lot. And you can find it very necessary to express your emotions intellectually(Moon in 3rd).

Often however,you can't help but use emotionally charged words(Moon rules the 8th house).

But thankfully that Saturn in 3rd keeps things in check and can also help in mitigating any forms of emotional/"all is lost" exaggeration that the 8th house influence can come to.

It's more of a surface compatibility, but you'd be amazed what that can do in terms of daily relating. The MOON deepens things, too.
