I had this aspect with my first love, exact. The way I view it is, as him being the Saturn, he influenced my choice in schooling at the time. I was in a Spanish Immersion program where all of my classes were in Spanish, K-12 grade, but instead of continuing entering High School, I decided to go to our neighborhood school because he was going and I wanted to be with him. I was 14 at the time so I'm sure this aspect can manifest in many different ways based on the aspect, houses, etc. My Saturn just so happens to be in my 10th house so anyone around my age will put their Saturn in my 10th as well. But from the looks of it, Saturn influences the career path of the other in some way whether directly or indirectly. The Saturn person's influence is the trigger or deciding factor? It was a very deep and intense love, but we were too young to appreciate it. We had aspects like: Moon sextile Moon.
Moon-Pluto (double whammy, 2 degrees and under).
His Karma conjuncts my moon exact. We both had our planets in each other's 7th/ 8th houses. Our composite was even more intense. Scorpio Sun, moon, mercury, venus, pluto love stellium in the 7th with Pluto conjunct the stellium and Saturn squaring it.. and neptune sextile it. 
We were on and off for 7 years. He's a Scorpio with dominant Sag energy so I ended up leaving him alone after awhile because of his nocommittal attitude. His Venus was unaspected in our Synastry except by an exact Quintile from my Saturn. It was definitely very Karmic.
