In the mean time Saturn is just waiting for the perfect time and does not want to act on impulse and be sure is the right call. How has it been like for you? IP: Logged |

Hypatia, depending on attitudes, Mars could view Saturn as a real drag. Or a reliable dependable voice of experience. quote: Originally posted by hypatia238: In the mean time Saturn is just waiting for the perfect time and does not want to act on impulse and be sure is the right call. Exactly so, well described.IP: Logged |

I'm guessing you need other positive aspects in synastry to view a mars-saturn conjunction in a more positive light (Haha). I say this because I would never describe it as Saturn being a tease. A "tease" is cute and sexy to a certain extent. From my experience in mars-Saturn conjunction with me being mars, Saturn is annoying, SLOW, and a because of this, a HUGE turn off. Now I know everyone's experiences aren't the same, but this aspect is probably the worst I've ever experienced aside from a Moon-Uranus square in synastry and Saturn SQUARES my mars in my own natal chart, ironically. The guy's Saturn, who conjuncts my mars, rules his 1st house though and my mars rules my 12th but is located in my 7th house so his Saturn was also conjunct my DSC and Sun. I'm guessing that added x2 the heaviness. No aspect is a deal-breaker technically, but I would be wary of this one. In my opinion, Saturn is too cautious and reserved to fully enjoy the union which frustrates mars' desires related to the relationship. Once mars is turned off, everything else turns sour as a result. If Saturn was more self-expressive and spontaneous, his dry-ness would be viewed as solid or "the strong and silent type" (which many women find sexy and attractive) instead of just plain annoying and frustrating. I viewed Saturn as a child incapable of showing real affection because that's the image he portrayed and the vibe he gave off. We dated for about 6 months.. broke up but stayed friends until I couldn't take it anymore. His mars was also opposite my Venus exact along with his Pluto conjunct my Venus exact. His Saturn conjuncted my mars at 3 degrees, my DSC at 1 degree. BUT this guy also had Venus retrograde in Aries natally so he was handicap all around unfortuantely. I felt sorry for him at some point. I'm glad it's over.IP: Logged |

Remember that Saturn is one archetype within a person's psyche and they could very well be facilitating a tease utilizing their Saturn energies....Coincidentally i was just reading this today and it might be helpful/illuminating. http://theinnerwheel.com/2011/09/01/the-cardinal-path-to-sexual-maturity-marssaturn/ I'm pretty sure Ceridwen's parents have the conjuction and it works out great for them. There are so many waysthis could go. My partner and I have Mars trine Saturn and Mars quincunx Saturn in synastry... I'm exploring the topic today also IP: Logged |

Yes they have the DW conjunction, and it works out for them very well. Their his Mars and her Saturn are trine his Venus though, and her Mars and his Saturn are conjunct her Venus, so I guess that figures in. IP: Logged |

YunG, thanks for the great link. I have Leo Saturn conj rising Mars; associate it with being Tantric Yoga adept. quote: Originally posted by yungang_grotto: Remember that Saturn is one archetype within a person's psyche and they could very well be facilitating a tease utilizing their Saturn energies....Coincidentally i was just reading this today and it might be helpful/illuminating. http://theinnerwheel.com/2011/09/01/the-cardinal-path-to-sexual-maturity-marssaturn/ I'm pretty sure Ceridwen's parents have the conjuction and it works out great for them. Very cool, I have noticed I tend to feel very close quickly to people that conjunct my Saturn. There is a rapport that happens quickly. Like you feel you already know the person. IP: Logged |

I have been the Mars person and the Saturn person and I will say that Mars wants to get physical relatively quickly and Saturn is also attracted but if there is any reason why Saturn feels getting physical is a bad idea Saturn will not act on the attraction and will start to avoid Mars if necessary even though Saturn likes Mars bc of the concientiosness innate in Saturn which is quite at odds with Mars impulsivity. Now if nothing indicates becoming physical is a bad idea this aspect can be great for a lasting relationship. This is my experience and impression I have gotten about Saturn in hard aspect with Mars. yeah, I'm struggling with this too, got a double whammy with someone I really like, his saturn conjunct mars in capricorn, my saturn in sag square his mars in pisces. it's like being stuck in stop-and-go traffic. doesn't help that in the composite saturn is conjunct uranus, which enforces the dynamic. it doesn't always feel like the right time/right place with him and me and in the past he blocked my advances and wanting to get closer more often than he welcomed it. last couple weeks have been a little different, but maybe that's because all of the retrograde planets right now :P IP: Logged |

Ceridwen can I ask you something, did your parents have a long courting stage? Did they wait till marriage to have sex? You don't have to answer if you don't feel comfortable of course. IP: Logged |

thank you and you're welcome I was a little relieved to find an explanation in the synastry, why there is such a push and pull, but then I have venus opposite mars, maybe I secretly like it that way IP: Logged |

That is interesting you mentioned Venus opposite Mars as contributing to you enjoying in some level this dynamic bc the person I had in mind when I started this thread has that aspect too... IP: Logged |

Ah, ok, with this aspect I'll have to choose between being uncomfortable and getting what I really want or staying safe and feeling unsatisfied. At least that's my experience with it and it totally plays a part in the synastry I have with the dude. if saturn wants safety most of the time and mars likes action of course there will be tension, but if both can decide on a real compromise? So. Good. IP: Logged |

I can relate, I have Moon inconjunct Venus, what I need and desire are at odds but I am learning to be grateful to have what I need and to desire what I need you can say . It's a very tough aspect but if the two people can manage to get through the initial confusion and chaos by the pull and push dynamic I imagine it can be very binding as Saturn aspects tend to be.
