I am curious about a phenomenon I see here. Why is it that some queries attract a lot of responses and some that don't evoke any ? Is it anything to do with unknown birth times ?

Just curious !

There are probably many reasons. Like e.g....

- sometimes, the necessary data for answering the question may indeed be missing from the initial post, making it difficult to answer it. Or to put it this way: If the querent can't be bothered to assemble the necessary data - then how can a complete stranger be expected to put their time and effort into answering such a question?

- Sometimes the same question (if it's a general question on some aspect for instance) has been asked at least a hundred times before, and no one feels like answering it yet again, nor feels like looking for a link to an older thread to post. That's why there's a search function on the main astro forum page.

- Some questions are inherently more interesting than others. Questions that concern other people's situations as well, or that discuss theories that are interesting, tend to receive more attention than strictly personal queries.

- Sometimes the question isn't formulated very clearly, and answering would mean having to guess the poster's intent, which is tiresome.

- Sometimes the question is clear enough, but doesn't make sense from the point of view of astrology. If explaining why that is the case would take a lot of time, people might opt not to aswer at all.

- Sometimes everybody is currently busy answering questions in other threads they previously became involved in, and doesn't notice the new thread before it wanders down to the bottom.

- Sometimes a particular person posts way too many personal queries without ever answering a single question by other posters - which may reduce the willingness of other people to help them out.

- Sometimes it's just bad luck - one should just bump the thread in that case and meanwhile, become involved in other people's threads and give a few opinions oneself. Normally, at some point people will reply - if a reply can be given. But it might take a few days.

This is not an exhaustive list by any means.

Probably because some people will respond to the poster if the poster knows about astrology and responds with astrologically factual answers.

I noticed this too. I feel like a lot of users get annoyed which is perfectly fine in their own right until they realize that this is in fact, an Astrology forum. It doesn't matter if a user posts 10 different posts in 5 minutes, the whole point of the forum is to learn, study charts, and interact. Who cares if that user is a relationship junkie (me lol) or an annoying Astrology newbie who found a halfway decent forum and now has a million different questions so they post a million different posts.. I'm going based off some of the replies I myself have gotten from different users. I post at least two posts every couple of weeks or even months with different relationship potentials. I'm just very curious about anyone new who pops in my life so i make the chart and then post it here for feedback. But if my answer to your question wasn't clear, I just believe it all stems from annoyance. If you aren't discusing advanced Astrology in which most of the users have no onowledge of, you won't get much of a response from anyone minus a few nice Users on here like Aubyanne, LeeLeo, Todd, and a few others. These users are still kind enough to respond even though it may be redundant or repetitive. I'm aware of all of this but this an astrology forum so i will use it as just that, any way i like within the rules of the forum. Maybe I'll get a reply, maybe not but i won't stop posting becuase someone is annoyed lol. I am who I am. If I feel the need to generate a synastry/ composite with every new guy i meet and post it here, that's my choice. This is what the forum is for!

I look for what I feel are deep concerns.it takes a bit of energy to analysis a chart and if the questions seem overly superficial or repetitive , I am not interested in responding. I like to stay with composites because the poster can have options based o the reading. natal charts are more difficult to analyze deeply and often the poster is more or less narcisstic. the analysis will not really serve any deeper or practical purpose.

all of the above and in my case perception of laziness. for instance, when someone ask a question that can be found in the forum by using the search engine. I feel offended by laziness. I wonder, why I have to invest time to tell someone something they can find easily with a quick search in google or in the search of this forum. I like the idea of adding information to that already available in the web, not to repeat what others already has said in this forum or any other site in internet...

good question but I believe it's more of a popularity thing here, some are obvious online friends or acquaintances.

I don't have any online friend in this forum to be honest.

one more thing to the list

ungratefulness is a main turn off. some people feel entitled to get responses and you used your time to help and not a polite "thank you"..

also people who don't seem to learn from replies. like they always want to suck whatever member know, but they don't take the time to digest the information or read more after that. it is all about "i have this question, give the answer because I need it" SO WHAT!!!
