Who likes who when Sappho is making aspects in synastry? The Sappho or the planet person or both, and what's the nature of a Sappho attraction?

Sappho.

compulsively/ passionately/ obsessively but in a refined way which often finds release in creativity.

Though another astrologers claims she has to do with sex (the non-romantic kind ).
While there seems to be a strong sexual vibe to her, and she seems to come up in transits often when there is actually sex to be had, well I observed her more in the way I described above.

EDIT
If Sapphos is contacting Venus, Moon, Mars or Eros or ruler of 5th, 7th or 8th house in synastry, of course the other person will feel attracted, too, in the way their activated planet suggests.

wow, great info and answer Ceri, thanks! How are you?

I have a crush on a man whose Sappho conjuncts my Moon. I was pretty sure he liked me too.

not really focused on your question but.....
I use Sappho as a sign of female to female attraction. it seems to work for me.
mythological she was not limited to lesbian relationships but she was born and lived on the island of lesbos. she was a legendary muse and poet but there was a unmistakable streak of female love in some of her remaining works.

VP,

yes, I´ve had that coming up as well, I think about 3 performers/ actors I liked (and curiously those 3 seemed to be focused on me in the audience - I suspect the reason for that being that somehow I must give back some kind of energy to them they can use to further their work, or something like that).

Anyway those 3 performers all had their Sappho in Aquarius conjunct my Moon, to varying degrees of closeness.
I guess somehow in this case my lunar expression must have triggered or furthered their creative expression (which was Sappho´s forte after all).

And yes, Sappho was known for her love of females, but actually she was not limited to homosexuality. The main point about her was the pure abandonment with which she threw herself into the feelings of love and then expressed them creatively (even if the love itself was not reciprocrated).

So I think while yes, it can occur in female to female attraction, limiting the asteroid`s meaning to that does not do it justice and is not even the main culprit. Of course that is just in my observation. But I observed Sappho quite a lot in female-male relationships and attractions as well, and there is something about those Sappho-attractions that is very intoxicating, passionate in a refined sense, and at the same time not always healthy to be honest, in its obsessive compulsiveness (though not stalker-like, just on an emotional level for the person whose Sappho is activated).

Sappho-Lilith- must be very obsessive and intense I guess.

Thank you, Ceri!
It's really his sun/Sappho conjunct my Lillith/NN.
Strange dynamic, indeed.

It's amazing that you should have that connection with three people you were drawn to. I'm going to have a look through my astro folder checking Sappho connections, I've never used her before.

I can detect the compulsiveness coming from him, but wasn't sure if it was my imagination, although honestly I don't think so. Even his physical body reacted strongly to my presence (but that could be other aspects as well of which there are many). Also I think you can detect an emotional sexual response as different to a purely physical sexual response.
