How would that work out? Would it be like we meet and it feels fated but yet not very surprising but as we get to know each other and hang out more and more strong familiar emotions surface with an unexpected effect??

I don't know... it seems like the South Node being things which are coming to an end and the vertex which is destiny's gate.. means there would be a theme of closure, or of one state of being passing into another with a relationship with this interaspect.

I just noticed today that transiting South Node was on my Vertex when my father passed away so this is definitely colouring my interpretation. Obviously with the North Node on the antivertex there is a similarity to the North Node on the descendant; there would be a focus on the other, rather than the self. The South Node person has dissolving to do with the vertex person, as a person, but they have growing to do with them, as a partner. So it could be very much about merging.

I'm just babbling. Hope some of it is constructive food for thought. I like your interpretation too.

I'm having that, too.
It's my Vertex and definetly a huge episode in my life, life-changing but in a very heavy way.
Feels like a burden for us both because we know it's a relationship without a future.
Still, we needed each other in our life I think, and I don't think we could ever forget about us completly.
Definetly a lot of heavy karma produced...enough for another life

My partner's Vertex is conjunct our composite South Node and my ascendant (all within 5 degrees). So we basically have this kind of energy going on too. It might be that the vertex isn't so picky about which end is on which bit. But i have a sense that Vertex-South Node energy is about resolving old karma...

Seems like angle on axis no matter what is important and doesn't necessarily indicate any particular fatedness depending on the configuration. I've heard for instance though that North Node-Ascendant contacts are generally more lasting than North Node-Descendant contacts but this is almost certainly very case specific and certainly can be a long term association with other factors being right.
