First of: real life experience comes first (astrology is only a language to decipher, but not substituting reality - not sayin you do that, but i see it happening quite often on here.)
Secondly: since a soulmate is a very specific individual occurrence, you need very specific individual markers of this in astrology - and nothing is more specific than aspects derived from your birthtime (hence ASC, MC and Vertex and even Moon are necessary).
Thirdly: there are some aspects that might point to that still without birthtime, but it is more of the general sort of course.
Among those would be:
- tight conjunctions or squares to the nodal axis
- tight conjunctions and oppositions within the Draconic chart and from Draco to tropical.
- often times tight aspects from Saturn to Sun, (mercury) Venus, Mars, nodal axis will also be present, as well as tight aspects from Neptune and/ or Pluto to the personal planets, but this is not always a sign of soulmates but could be also simply encounters that are meant to push you forward onto your path of development (Same could be said for the nodal aspects, too of course).
- Soulmates will also have a strong resonance between their natal charts, either by mirroring each other natal charts or complementing it, though this is not limited to soulmate sof course, but if you do not find this, chances are slim you are soulmates to being with.
What I mean is something like
A has Venus conjunct Neptune
B has Venus conjunct Neptune or Mars conjunct Neptune
- that gives a resonance (especially if there are dynamic aspects, the trine and sextile might resonate too, but more subtly, quietly humming in the background).
