I don’t like to talk about morbid things, but I do like to talk about true things. This makes it necessary to delve into the morbid. I was sexually abused by my mother. That makes me someone who associates love with abuse. All abuse victims do. The love they knew was entwined with abuse, through no fault of their own. How does this relate to Astrology? That is the topic of this article.

First of all, I believe one can see abuse in the natal chart. I believe that one is destined to be abused( or not) I know many people disagree. However, it is what I have observed from doing thousands of charts. There are certain markers for abuse. However, this article is not about that as much as what happens later, when the abuse victim is attracted to someone.

There are several phases in an abusive relationship. The first is the honeymoon phase, which is better and sweeter than most any experience in life. One feels one has found one’s true love, FINALLY. One feels as if one has “come home”. Most people do not contact me while in this phase. Life is too perfect to seek help. One feels on top of the world.

The next phase consists of doubts. People do not contact me in this phase, either. They want to push the doubts away. Talking about them makes them more real. That is the last thing the person wants to do.

The next phase consists of reality intruding. The beloved seems dangerously like the abusive parent. However, she is hooked on the guy. This is the stage in which I receive requests for help.

The abusive relationship will have the certain markers. The most classic are the asteroids Nessus and Dejanira, on which I have written a great deal. Planetary markers include Mars/Pluto and Pluto/Saturn in hard aspects. Pluto/Saturn is classic for cruelty. Mars/Pluto is classic for physical abuse, often.

I, always, have a point in writing articles. This one is that the abuse victim is attracted to abuse. Hence, if one feels a wild attraction, one can check the charts and, often, see abuse markers.

I wish I had an answer to make abuse victims shed their pasts. Then, perhaps, the cycle could stop. I wish I had more answers and less identifying of factors.

My answer is, always, the same and that is a true relationship with Jesus. This allows for real change, not pop psych change. I know many of my readers are not Christians, but I leave this with you because this is my hope and I offer it to you.

((Ami)). I am sorry that happened to you. I see why your perspective (that some people are destined to abuse of be abusers) is controversial--we can all agree (probably) that we wish for a world where all beings are free from suffering and divinely protected by, and able to embrace and embody, the sacred.

Is it really not possible to express/manifest our charts --natal, synastry, transits--on multiple different levels? Like, one person can express/experience/manifest something at a very high vibrational level, another at a low level, and we can influence our own abilities to raise the vibe through practices---spirituality, self-study, meditation, going to counseling, exercise, art.

This is one thing that bugs me about astrology--it's so mathematical that 100% of people on the planet will have their Nessus conjunct someone's Venus (as one example)---but there are enlightened people on the planet who, unless astrological aspects can be manifested at "higher" versus "lower" levels, shouldn't have any Nessus at all!!! (Nessus just as one random example.).

Otherwise it's like saying 100% of human beings have tumors. When we don't--the truth is that 100% of human beings have BODIES, and we all have the capacity to develop tumors, but the actions and practices we choose can change even our genes.

As a parent especially---i don't know, it's all so complicated!

Thank you, my Friends. Love you!

God used it for good.

I would not be doing what I am today without it.

I would be shopping for shoes

Ami Anne, semi-hypothetically (since I don't think my child has abuse markers in her chart, other than a Moon-Nessus conjunction in synastry with her dad, who is not abusive)----

If you are a parent and see abuse markers in your child's chart--a child who has not yet been abused--what should you do?

I think astrology applies mostly in the first year... sorry to hear your story

But as one grow up, you can leave the chart and become your own person The chart is just a basic indicator, its like your genes, what you where born to - but mostly you chose your own actions in life and you can change the bad traits in your personality, that is what we can use astrology for!

As that been said... look out for strong pluto/mars aspect to other planets in general in synastries (the squares and oppositions), they are really extremely strong forces which are very hard to control... I dont really like these kind of aspects myself and keep away from them

That is a GREAT question, (((Lucia)) and I have had someone come to me with that situation( not as a client, but just for me to look)

I will be very honest, as I, always, am.

I think one thing and one thing only can overcome chart aspects/issues.

That is a true relationship with God and Jesus.

I guess I would say that, L.
