Many people think they're as important as conjunctions and oppositions in synastry.Could you please briefly tell me what you think about that as I know very little. Are parallels/contra-parallels important to you? Are they felt like aspects? My Moon, Venus and Saturn 16S My Chiron 16N His Moon and Nodes 16S His Mars 15S His Chiron 16N His Mercury 17N Now what to do with all that? Treat it similar to aspects..? Can they be felt at all? I have to say I'm a bit skeptical.. Thanks IP: Logged |

Yes, parallels are conjunctions of declination, and contra-parallels are oppositions of declination. They are just as important as well. So yes, they are felt just as much as any other aspects in longitude (the flat wheel chart). The planets all move in declination north and south of the celestial equator. This is part of the 4D movement of our solar system, indeed our universe. Flat wheel charts are flat earth charts which depict the sky (and earth) as if it were all on an east-west plane. First learn natal astrology and your own chart. Then apply what you've learned to synastry. Your Moon's parallel to Venus and Saturn at 16° south is probably the focal point in your chart. This indicates you are a very heartfelt person (Moon, Venus), but reserved and self-protective in how you express this (Saturn). ------------------ The Declinations Guy Rising Sign Descriptions | Expert rectification ♈ ♉ ♊ ♋ ♌ ♍ ♎ ♏ ♐ ♑ ♒ ♓ IP: Logged |

Kannon,Thank you for your advice. Didn't cross my mind to check natal chart too for these. The question I have now will apply to synastry too actually. So if parallels are similar to conjunctions and you say they are as important and felt as strongly, then in my chart I have Moon and Venus parallel Saturn AND Moon and Venus both square Saturn. I don;t understand how to combine the two. Sure, the energy is similar but conjunction is still not a square, they are different. Similarly, in synastry we have his Venus conjunct my Moon and My Venus parallel to his Moon. So now, do I just happily assume my Venus makes conjunction to his Moon too? I just like to have this approach to synastry readings (composites, natals, synastry) - when something is not there, then it's not, period. But now if I add declinations in the mix and take them seriously..looks like I can find anything I want. IP: Logged |

This is true for me. But then is it because I have many Saturn squares to Moon, Venus and Mars in my chart? I also have Moon Venus conjunction but the orb is very wide at 9 degrees separating. IP: Logged | |
