This is one of the few videos I could find that goes into the dynamics of this aspect. She takes the perspective of each side too.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uir8yxqs3mk

I have this aspect with someone I care about, me being the Venus. We have great synastry and chemistry - but this aspect alone seems to put a stop to taking things further.

I have the DW with someone I just met and we also have great chemistry.

Can you expand on what you mean by it stopping you from taking things further?

Why is this aspect talked about so much?!

I've never had the experience of it being so horrible as many people say. Most people, actually.

I have a 9 degree trine from Saturn to my Venus in natal..

Saturn squares my Sun and trines my moon very closely..

8 degree square to mars..

So okay, I AM very Saturnian but even people who share similar aspects or more quiver at this aspect on Synastry even still.

If you're air or fire dominant though I can see how this aspect would be hell, but even still I think it just adds a tone of realism to the relationship which keeps things grounded which is always a good thing in my opinion. Fairy tales are nice but aren't real. Eventually reality WILL hit so why not just keep it running from the beginning of the relationship and all the way through?

Saturn only ruins things when there's nothing else to pick the relationship up as in Uranus, Jupiter, Pluto, and sometimes Neptune.

This is just from my own experiences and feelings though so I'm sure not everyone will agree or feel this way.

It's almost like, she can't take me seriously or is deeply afraid I'm gonna hurt her. It's a shame really, because all of our other aspects point to soulmate-ish, long term, and beautiful love.

The double whammy you have with your someone probably helps balance it. Keeps it more even. Saturn, to me, is very afraid.

Hahahaha! I think she really communicates her thoughts very well and thoroughly. The breasts are a definite plus, though!

Thanks Cosmiq!

Shame it's being held back like that just because of this aspect! Sometimes I hate knowing too much about astrology lol because if you didn't know then maybe it would turn out differently..

I try not to get carried away with the astrology when meeting people. After awhile, I will look it up to see if it explains any of our interactions though. Despite all our positive aspects, this Saturn-Venus square seems to be the spotlight for us.

Haha yes! Sometimes it's refreshing just to see how things play out without having any clue.

I have it with my (soon ex) BF, I'm Saturn. We were never much in love (met on Internet), but all the good things that were there at the beginning just vanished. We don't even touch each other anymore and sleep in the bed like brother and sister. All is cold cold... we are together for some more months for rent reasons and it feels horrible.

But the natals and entire synastry plus composite need to be taken into account. If you have Venus/Saturn natally for example, it's an energy you can deal with better in a rel. it's also about how you can work with your Saturn. Awareness is key. Astrology is not definitive. There are many married couples with Venus/Saturn squares I'm sure

Ok so what about if there's a Saturn conjunct Jupiter squaring Venus aspect in the composite? Would that help the Saturn square Venus in synastry?

I would think awareness can overcome lots of challenges in synastry. I just don't like to think of astrology or anything as definitive. Otherwise I'm wasting my time in my line of work as a therapist.

you're welcome Em and sorry to hear that

I'll be editing my posts, somehow I feel like it (I don't wanna say negative things anymore) and I'd be grateful if you unquote me in your first post
