Did you find pleasure in synastry from squares, quincunxes, or oppositions? Please tell us your story. You can also mention if there were parts of it that you didn't enjoy. Like if you put up with the bad parts of it in order to get the good parts as well. IP: Logged |

my ex and me had the most awful synastry, but somehow it actually was also the best...we had sun square saturn/neptune/uranus/jupiter and venus square saturn/uranus/jupiter... so we really had a thing going on with these outer planets, but at least there were no bad pluto or mars aspects... But I found it very interesting the combination between Jupiter, Uranus and Saturn (and neptune)... Our relationship had some sort of dreamy touch, but still it was really really affectionate and funny... we had sooo many good and special times together! I am still very sorry that it had to end... it ended kinda abrupt and still not sure exactly why... I guess its the neptune/uranus thing, like there will always be something unresolved... but jupiter on top of it all was so nice, cause it really felt like we had something special together in the end So yeah I enjoyed the relationship as long as it lasted, but it's somehow also understandable that those kinds of relationship with that much bad uranus aspect cannot go on forever... (unfortunately) :'(

edit - short answer is YESNot in the mood for discussing it in detail, but I think it's just obvious that relationships with negative aspects can be happy and fulfilling. IP: Logged |

YES. I recently noticed the excitement mars-mars hard aspects add to the bedroom. Me and my honey have mars square mars along with mars-ASC double whammy, conjunction/ square, moon-mars square, mars-pluto DW (conjunction/ square), mars-Saturn DW(square/ opposition), mars-jupiter sextile DW.
Best sex ever with endless adventure but very secure and warm. Never had anything like it. Our sexual styles are very different, but this is what adds the level of mystery to it. We never know how it's going to every time haha. IP: Logged |

After taking a look at Ami's thread, I'm particularly interested in quincunxes and squares. Especially the quincunx as it's supposed to be such an awkward aspect. Thanks to all those who responded so far. Comdoc, yes I think that when oppositions are accompanied by sextiles and trines to the opposition, it's softens the edges of the oppositon and creates a dynamic pattern. The opposition pushes energy back and forth and the soft aspects harmonize the flow of that energy. IP: Logged |

Yes. Many. One of my faves is Mercury square Mercury. Keeps me mentally on my toes, stretches my intellect, makes my mind wake up and feel alive. .Exquisite discomfort when done well.IP: Logged |

i kinda like his mars squaring my moon.. even though sometimes it really hurts. but that's because i'm a bit of a masochist.. maybe it's because i have an aries moon too.oh, since you say you want to hear about quincunxes: we have moon-moon exactly, and it's an endless fascination with each other.. never quite figuring each other out and always surprising each other. however sometimes there is a feeling that i can't really fulfill his emotional needs and vise versa. because we really fundamentally do not understand each other or share the same needs. but we have a lot of other awesome stuff that makes up for it. also we have sun signs quincunx by sign, but not aspect. and his mercury quincunxes my sun-mercury by aspect. it's all pretty crazy. if you read linda goodman's love signs piece, the one about sag-taurus 6-8 love pattern is pretty spot on. but he also has a gemini venus (opp. my sun by aspect) and i have a scorpio venus which adds more confusion but compliments our individual tastes a bit more. then there's my sun squaring his virgo moon, that probably adds to the confusion but somehow we get along (i have a virgo mars anyway) and that is reflected in the composite sun-moon-mars grand trine. then there's my mars in 0 virgo squaring his 27 taurus sun and it's interesting, i feel like he does things that would normally make me angry if (like tickling me, preventing me from getting up, etc.) but with him i actually think it's cute and fun. Thanks so much for your detailed explanation of quincunxes! Yeah, I remember that passage form Linda Goodman's LOVE SIGNS book about the 6-8 pattern. I have noticed in the past that aspects manifest according to how they occur as a pattern in the zodiac if you use Aries as the starting point. Counting from Aries, the signs Virgo and Scorpio are the quincunx signs. So quincunxes often have to do with being fascinated by the other person's motivations, and having to make adjustments to be on the same page with them. And also having to make adjustments with them regarding daily routines, body/health, and practical methods of dealing with day to day life. Helpfulness and constructive criticism can be a theme here too. Unless the relationship is negative, in which case the two people could accuse each other of having ulterior motives, and being weird or indirect about their intentions, or they could criticize each other's way of doing things in too much of a negative and hurtful way. I'm more interested in the positive expression of a quincunx though. I've found that counting aspects from Aries works for other aspects as well... Conjunctions are very direct and forward like Aries. Oppositions balance, contradict, compromise with each other like Libra. Trines bring positive flow and joy of expression like Leo and Sagittarius. Sextiles bring communication and friendship like Gemini and Aquarius. Squares bring the dynamic activity and hard work needed for achievement like Capricorn, and can also dredge up issues related to emotional security, or things we feel sensitive about, so they can be confronted (like Cancer). As I mentioned above I think quincunxes have a Virgo/Scorpio flavor. Semisextiles are interesting. For the sign behind, the sign ahead represents Taurus energy. The sign ahead seems to have developed an ability to acquire things from the world which the sign behind has yet to develop, and the sign behind feels they could learn talents and skills from the sign ahead to help they get what they need from the world around them. The sign behind often seems to have secret knowledge about things the the sign ahead is unaware of, like a Pisces or 12th house energy. So the sign behind may surprise the sign ahead with their insight and revelations. The sign behind can help the sign ahead avoid trouble that they may not realize is coming, or take advantage of gains they don't realize are available. I think the tighter the aspect is by orb, the more these issues show up in a synastry. IP: Logged |

I looove hard Uranian aspects, it's SO fun and exciting and thrilling. It's like electricity running through your body. Bad sides? It's always been good for me. Look, Uranus needs either weirdness to be satisfied or unpredictability. If you want Uranus to stay be weird or consistently unpredictable then all is good. (if you have it nataly then you don't need to fake it cause it's what you ARE). It's endless fun. IP: Logged |

I was with my guy 20+ years ago, we reconnected, and have been together 7+ years. We have a Moon square and a Mars square; a death knell to some astrologers. Not in our case. I know we have quincunxs, but I don't feel like looking it up as I am tired. ------------------ Claire "When going gets weird, the weird turn pro." -HST IP: Logged |

Yes.. I usually love moons squaring my Sun. Cancer moons, to be specific. Somehow I always meet the late Cancer moons that hover dangerously close to squaring my sun at tight orbs. Not met any Cappy moons at that degree, but I can speak for Cancer moons there - love this aspect. Despite what they say, *very* emotionally fulfilling, both ways. I've a Hades moon natally, and 8th/Scorp stuff - so I love me a water moon. For some odd reason, moons that conjunct my Sun never do well for me. They tend to grate on my nerves. Maybe it's something else in the synastry? IP: Logged |
