We just had a Pluto thread, I know. But well, this is something I've been contemplating lately:

How does the power balance differ when two people have hard Sun/Pluto vs hard Moon/Pluto.

My understanding is that Pluto definitely would have the upper hand in Moon/Pluto contacts, since Moon is such a sensitive part of us. But, that it isn't as clear-cut in the case of Sun/Pluto because of how powerful Sun is.

What are your experiences of these two aspects in synastry? Do you think Pluto has more power over Moon than he has over Sun? Is Pluto powerful enough to control Sun or could Sun tame Pluto? What do you think?

No matter the aspect with sun and Pluto in synastry I see them having dinner and constantly pulling each other's heads! I'm right! Pluto says no im right! Sun says...
Ego battle I see with this unless there soft aspects from Neptune.

Versus with the moon, In my past being the moon...the moon is just too busy being onbessed/infatuated under the spell of Pluto since Pluto did a great job catching his prey (the moon)....

Thank you so much, angel4845!!

These are exactly the kind of experiences I'm looking for. That's what I thought too, that Sun/Pluto would create an ego battle while Moon would be swooned in a different, more sensitive way, cause Pluto control/have insight into their most private, delicate self. Like, Moon/Pluto is Fifty Shades of Grey and Sun/Pluto Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Something like that.

Not to say that there isn't obsession in Sun/Pluto too. But ... to the never-ending question: Who is more obsessed in Sun/Pluto? And who wins: Mr or Mrs Smith?

Hahahahah! Mr. and mrs. smith is hot hahahha!! Well I think with Moon/Pluto it depends on the signs/houses for suuuuuure and which other planets asteroids is aspecting the moon in the moons natal chart. For example we can look at a female with moon conjunct Uranus and the man may aspect that with his Pluto then the story would be a BIT different....I think moon/Uranus will still be intrigued and defently feel the PULL coming from Pluto but is able to handle the emotional intensity pluto is offering to her. I've seen this in many cases which is why I think it's best to look at the natals in my humble opinion.

Sun Pluto defently think there's obsession but again signs-houses planted asteroid and how sensitive is the sun like is it in cancer? Is it in the 4th house?? Is it in the 12th?? Is it aspecting Neptune??? Hmmmmm is it possibly conjunct the IC? Is it conjunct dejanira? EVA?

Haha, isn’t it? And good point, angel!

In my case Sun/Pluto gets even trickier, because my Gemini Sun is unaspected. I know Ami Anne describes the unaspected planet as hidden treasure and that it can be powerful like no other. Others say the unaspected planet is weak. So, I wonder if my Sun has got a super strength or a super weakness. But the strength of the planet in the natal is definitely good to keep in mind.

Thank you!

@Faith

That's a way to solve it haha

But to sum it up, you didn't have great luck with the Sun/Pluto square huh? If only I could remember that quote about this aspect ... it describes your situation quite well ...

*A quick Google search later*

Oh yes, cappy1277: "It kinda equates to a little too late. Sun wants it when it wants it and Pluto drags it out. Sun person will put it on the back burner and turn to other things to stay preoccupied. that is when Pluto sees and then comes to the realization that they know what they want....Sun square Pluto synastry"

Sounds familiar?

Thanks, Faith!

My experiences -- Sun opposite Pluto (me, 0 deg) and Moon sextile Pluto (also me, 3 deg) with my boyfriend
Sun (me) square Pluto (0 deg) with my ex
Sun (me) square Pluto (5) with my mom
Moon (me) opposite Pluto (3) with a short fling that left me absolutely devastated for months after

In my experience as the Sun, it was always easy for me to notice the power plays and say 'NOPE,' and call them out on it, which would really, really **** the Pluto people off because they had issues (and it was a square)

In my experience as the Moon, I was so enthralled that I couldn't see how he was manipulating and taking advantage of me until YEARS after (i was also very naive)

In my experience as Pluto, I try really hard to see when I'm being ruled by insecurities/compulsions and when something is actually an issue, and I don't think we have the same kinds of power struggles

Yes, that quote does fit and calls to mind certain vivid memories.

Though I have managed to sustain friendships from my childhood, and their Plutos are square my sun. Same with a few other friends my age.

I miss cappy1277.

Thank you so much for sharing, Selenite!

What kind of power plays did Sun/Pluto create with your ex? Did he try to control you? Was he possessive/jealous? and if you don’t mind me asking, who broke it off in the end? Who ”won”? If you can express a relationship in terms of winning. Most probably not.

I’d think that too, that the Moon is enthralled. But what does Pluto want form Moon? Is it love or just manipulation and for what reason?

All these questions … Thanks!

I never had the pleasure of communicating with cappy, but I'm sure he/she is missed, Faith.

Ah yes, these generational aspects. They're tricky. Seems to play out a little differently form person to person.

Thanks again!

Faith ,had it right with sun square pluto, that was my experience as well. I just let it go and don't mind talking to or flirting with the guy but I have no time for cat and mouse games.
