What do you guys think of planets in composites that read +opposite? I know this is due to the synastry planets being opposite one another, i.e in mine and my boyfriend's synastry, my Venus opposes his Venus, my Mars opposes his Mars. Therefore we have both of these planets as +opposite house in the composite.

Any experience with this in your own composites, or knowledge you'd like to share?

I only have this in one composite that I know of and it is the comp Mars that is +opposite.

I'm not sure what to make of it except that maybe at different times we embody the different Mars' when together. I could see that as we have the +opp in 3H/9H & Virgo/Pisces. It's funny, the comp on astro comes out with Mars in Virgo and lists the +opp house, but if I look back on our relationship we have clearly played out the Pisces Mars more often than the Virgo.

Interesting.

Hmm, even more interesting, the houses it falls in mirror our natal Mars signs (Gem and Sag)

NO clue what it means , but it is intriguing.

Edit - I figured it out! It's listed in the aspect chart.

Interestingly, I have composite sun +opposite with a good friend. Although, in the Davison, the sun placement is the same, but not showing as opposite.

We have sun opposite sun in synastry so I guess it makes sense. Interestingly, the +opposite takes it into the 8th house, conjunct Venus (1degree), and conjunct my natal moon (2degrees).

I always read composite oppositions as conjunctions already, so I guess this just expands on that?

Would love to know more if anyone has more insight!

I drew up a composite with someone yesterday and we had Sun opposite Venus, which is impossible in a natal chart. I read that it can be interpreted as a conjunction, but I think there must be more to it!

Beautiful_Light me too! I got a compatibility report a little while back and it described it as a wonderful placement - wasn't til afterwards I cottoned on to the impossibility!

This is one of the reasons some prefer Davison charts - they're for a time and place so you couldn't get sun opposite Venus.

With the Davison re the same guy, we have sun exact conjunct moon, and Venus is 6degrees away out of sign. In the pure midpoint composite chart, we have sun opposite/conjunct Venus, with moon 8degrees away. So very similar themes, but expressed very differently!

Thanks for the replies, everyone.

I have heard the conjunction/opposition being the same in composites, especially with Venus/Sun since a Venus/Sun opposition is impossible in a natal -- like said above.

Funny this is mentioned because in the composite between my boyfriend and I, Venus is +opposite house, and that would either mean Sun opposite Venus, or conjunct. The conjunction makes more sense.

My boyfriend and I both have our natal Mars in 10th house. In our composite, it's this way as well, but it's one of those +opposite positions, where it could also be interpreted in Cancer in 4th, rather than in Cap in 10th.

I've read somewhere once that +opposite houses for planets in composites can make them stronger. But it's hard to find any material on this. Online, anyway. I haven't researched any books on this particular situation.
