So these two have been co-hosts for about 10 years, and it's been a very known secret that they have been together for about that long. Joe divorced his 2nd wife in 2012/2013 (separated in 2012), however there had been rumors of him and Mika being an item since 2008 (as his last child was born in May of 2008). Mika divorced her husband in 2016.
Little known fact is that Mika wasn't tapped to be on Morning Joe until Joe himself asked her to co-host in 2007. Obviously she was capable (as she had already been in the news business), but I'm wondering if a secondary reason he chose her was because of the chemistry they had/his attraction to her.

She has a grand trine in Air with love planet and ruler of her Sun and Mars( Venus) in playful Gemini .

Venus forms a square with Uranus/Pluto Virgo conjunct. And Uranus/Pluto conjunct is sudden(Uranus), drastic(Pluto) changes.

And when it hits Venus, it suggests that these sudden changes are in the love life.

She is wildly attractive intellectually with this aspect natally. And it adds a very magnetic persona to her already sociable grand trine.

He however is the impulsive romantic. With Sun in Aries/Moon in Libra and Moon square Cancer nodal axis, infatuation and making life decisions all in the name of feelings and emotions -is how he plays the game.

Add to that his Chiron in Pisces/Venus in Pisces conjunct aspects Neptune in Scorpio. There are some painful lessons to learn within love relationships and not being able to see things for what they are.

The fact that he fell for his co-host is testament to the Libra Moon romantic as well Venus in "lights and glamour" Pisces.

Notice also how her Pluto-Uranus-Venus mix aspects this Venus-Chiron conjunct by opposition and square respectively? This to me smells like trouble related to not seeing things for what they really are.

She also has Chiron/Venus/Uranus/Pluto natally. And that compounds the Chiron effect in this relationship.

I have yet to look at declination aspects as they could highlight more.But his Saturn on her Moon and trine her grand air mix is a double edged sword.

She could see him as an "anchor"(pun intended). But also as the inhibiter-especially with her "no one will stop me" Pluto-Uranus conjunct in Virgo aspect.

Perhaps that is what he found so attractive about her? As Venus is in that mix. But he must not get in her way. And with Mercury/North node conjunct in Taurus, there is more she wants to do and amass in her purusit to build lasting tangible security.

Their extreme chemistry could be explained by the Mars-Moon Conjunction and how Joe initially wanted Mika for the job (the Moon is typically the feminine ideal along with Venus for a man).

I usually see men more likely to marry their Moon type (if not the actual Moon sign, the wife will be heavy in the Moon element). Joe is a Libra Moon, with Venus in Water...he probably dated and/or married Water types (as he is an impulsive and romantic Aries with Leo Mars). If Joe hadn't married a woman strong in Air and/or Venus he should have. Mika is a Taurus which is ruled by Venus, and has her Moon Square Neptune, and Venus Square Pluto (so she has traces of Water).

So the Moon activation from Mika is a reason I believe Joe has been smitten with Mika from probably day one. Mika considered Joe a friend and a nice sexual partner, but I highly doubt she was willing (she is a Taurus afterall) to leave her family and put them through separation for lust. Her Moon is Conjunct his Saturn so I do think that there was an element of it being a true friendship that was long term and stable (in addition to the Mercury Mercury Conjunction).

Mika has natal Venus Square Uranus which typically makes rash decisions in love...but can manifest as a falling for your best friend type aspect (similar to Venus in Aquarius or Venus in 11th). I truly believe Mika fell for Joe early on but really wanted to try and make her marriage work for her kids and her own personal code (Aqua Moon). I'm also willing to bet Joe ended his marriage in 2012 on his own accord and Mika didn't prod him to do so. In fact I'm willing to bet Mika urged Joe to stay and try as he had a child in 2008 and she didn't want his family upset.

Mika has a Grand Trine of Air planets that aspect his Moon. In addition to this Mika's Venus in Gemini makes a complete Grand Trine with Joe's Moon in Libra and Saturn in Aquarius.

I have had a Grand Trine be completed by two people and I will admit each time it is super comfy!!! They both were in Earth.

All in all I truly think it was the intense sexual chemistry of the Moon Mars Conjunction which led Joe to want her (he not only has a Leo Mars that has strong passions, he has also spoken about their "crackling" on and off screen chemistry), and for Mika it was the strong sexual chemistry (she has Venus Trine Mars), long term friendship and intellectual compatibility that led her to want him.
