Do you think these aspects would neutralise each other a bit, if you have them at the same time in a composite chart? Both aspects are within 1 degree only!

The rest of our synastry and composite is absolutely fine, the only "bad" aspect I see is this Sun square Saturn thing....

No, that won't neutralize it. Actually Sun Saturn is a VERY VERY good aspect to have for long term commitment. The Composite Sun is the core or purpose of the relationship, or heart if you want to be more literal. So in this case you have the core purpose of the chart touching a commitment heavy planet. It is much better than a harsh Sun Neptune aspect (nebulous and hazy may not know if the relationship has a future or is unsure as to what is purpose of the relationship) or harsh Sun Uranus aspect (noncommittal at worst but for most it must be non traditional at the bare minimum to last...good luck trying to be a traditional couple with the 2.5 kids, Van, and suburban home). The Sun Saturn Square won't be easy, but it will make you much more likely to try to stick it out and try to make it work.

That Sun Jupiter aspect does help to significantly lighten things up and also make them fun...but don't worry too much about the Sun Saturn Square.

I have the opposite view of Saturn square to the sun. it sign that their energies will not mesh and usually the male will try to dominate.

saturn conjunct sun would be a stabilizing affect , but moon conjunct saturn is probably the most devoted aspect in a composite

I actually agree with most of what you write or your assessments. You are literally the only astrologer who was spot on about Hollywood relationships and the prevalence of Uranus in them (which I think is obvious when you look at the couples who have or had it)...but that's a topic for another day. I actually wanted to bounce an idea about heavily Uranian relationships to you or others...as in multiple harsh placements to the Sun/Moon/Venus etc and a theory or thought I have about those relationships. I personally have a working hy that couples who are not socially shocking in some way (via different races...genders to an extent...religious affiliation etc) wouldn't be able to last with the heavy onslaught of Uranus compared to the couples who are shocking/different just by being together (I actually want to start a topic on it).

Anyway back to the topic, I do agree that Moon or Sun Saturn (Conjunct or in Sextile or Trine) are VERY good aspects to have in the Composite (Moon Conjunct is def great...coupled with positive Pluto and Neptune and you have a relationship that is emotionally rock solid, deep and soulful). And I do think there will be a fair amount of controlling in harsh Saturn. In my experience it was more of the, "I'm older and know better than you" variety. But I'm a Cap Moon with my 7th being ruled by Saturn so I don't view being stifled or restrictions as soooo bad. Well they're bad, but I'm better able to handle them because of Saturn in my chart.

Having said that Next to Neptune, I don't want to say the relationship will be easy breezy. But it will be a relationship that is built on a solid foundation. This of course depends on your relationship with Saturn, maturity, and willingness to work at something and compromise. So it won't be a cake walk, but in my humble opinion Sun Square Saturn with Jupiter is manageable. I say if you feel something express it honestly and wholeheartedly (Saturn needs to know where you stand and that you care) and go from there. Good luck and I do hope he feels the same way :-)

that is a interesting insight and it does make sense as if a natal has Uranus stress then those aspect in a composite might be more easily dealt with versus a pair who haven't been subjected to those vibrations.

you are right that if the individuals had stressful Saturn aspects they might be able to use the Saturn square as a stepping stone instead of a block
