My Pluto in Scorpio conjuncts a guy's Saturn in Scorpio. He is 8 years older than me so it's obviously this synastry would only occur in two people that aren't super close in age. His Jupiter in Capricorn conjuncts my DC and his South node in Scorpio conjuncts my Vertex as well, so two of his major outer planets plus his important South Node hit important planets/points in my chart.

You don't need an age gap. Saturn and Pluto were conjunct in 1982, for instance so any two people born that year would have Saturn-Pluto conjunct Saturn-Pluto. It's not an easy one to be born with.

In synastry you won't really noticed it, although it could mean things don't turn out smoothly very easily at times. Take note of transits to the point of conjunction to have an awareness of how the two you deal with it in relationship. That's when issues may arise as a result, but if you both know what's going on it shouldn't stop you having a good relationship....

The rest of your synastry of course tells a much more vivid story, and any personal planets either of you have aspecting this conjunction could activate and make it feel very karmic and complex at times.
