How does this play out in synastry? Let's say if you have Mars square Mercury in synastry. But the two signs conjunct by sign.IP: Logged |

You've never heard of planets being sextile, trine or conjunct by sign? Lets say if you have Mercury in Taurus and the other person has Mars in Taurus. But there is a square aspect between Mars and Mercury in synastry. But by sign it's a conjunction. IP: Logged |

If two planets are conjunct by sign, those planets cannot make a square aspect.IP: Logged |

Yeah I am not understanding the question. ChildofVenus, are you saying that in your natal chart you have Mars and Mercury conjunct but in the synastry, his Mars or Mercury is square your conjunction? IP: Logged |

But are planets being conjunct, sextile or trine by sign really relevant in synastry?

Is your question just about a synastry aspect between Mercury and Mars? Considering your question is a bit strange, it would likely help if you put up a chart to help clear up what you're asking about. This said, the signs by themselves are not necessarily important. What is relevant, however, is the signs are a certain distance apart and this distance relates to real geometry. Excluding the signs from interpretation will not change how far apart planets are from each other and whether or not those planets are within orb for an aspect. Both planets being within the same sign mean there is less than 30 degrees of a distance between those planets. Squares require roughly 90 degrees by distance to be considered squares, which is a huge difference when it comes to your question. If you're asking about Person A's Mercury being conjunct Person B's Mars and Person A's Mars being square Person B's Mercury, it would be helpful to clarify that you are asking about this. Overall, your question doesn't make much sense as it is currently phrased. If you don't know how to phrase your question so it is easier to understand, it will definitely be a lot easier to see what you're asking when there's a chart to reference. IP: Logged |

Or does there need to actually be an aspect between the two planets to be felt? For example I really like this persons voice and I enjoy talking with them. My Venus trines their Mercury by sign but we don't actually have an aspect between Venus and Mercury. IP: Logged |
