I feel like this aspect is very well overlooked in synastry even though it is considered a major aspect.

I like them. I don't feel they are overlooked. I read a lot about them in the past. I have 4 exact sextiles with my boyfriend and I feel them. We have sextiles with Uranus (double whammy) and it is great because it means we are very comfortable with each other and feel like we can be ourselves. Also with Saturn/Venus this is good for longevity and Venus/Pluto.
