Hi All
I hope everyone is doing well I wanted to start a conversation about your thoughts and experiences in relationships with significant Pluto and 8H connections. Of course, the reason I am asking is because I just started seeing someone with whom I have some Plutonian connections, lol , but I am also very interested to understand Plutonian energy.

Have any of you experienced a LONG-TERM Plutonian relationship? I ask because I am more curious in how that energy plays out over time vs over the course of a few months or a couple of years.

I know that there are quite a lot of claims that 8H and Pluto in synastry/composites can indicate an obsessive/possessive kind of energy between partners. This seems to be translated as a connection that is difficult to let go of and therefore one that might be more long-term. However, my understanding of Plutonian energy is that it is a transformative energy bringing significant change and complete shedding of past or "old" energy. So wouldn't that indicate an intense but short-lived relationship? You cannot be reborn anew if the past won't die (*Kylo Ren's voice echoes in the distance*).

Just for reference, the guy I'm dating and I have the following connections (rounding the degrees):

His Pluto opp my Sun + Merc 2-4 degrees
My Sun + Merc overlay in his 8H
My Venus conj his 8H 2 degrees
Composite Venus, Mars and Jupiter in 8H
Composite Pluto trine Composite Sun + Mercury 4 degrees
Composite Pluto inconjunct Composite Mars 1 degree

I believe I have some experience with 8th house energies now, I seem to attract them a lot (possibly due to my Venus and Mercury in Scorpio)

An incredibly significant relationship that ended a few years ago had an 8th house stellium with Sun, Venus and Moon. We had sun conj venus and other incredibly strong aspects, the 8th house was in Libra. It was an incredibly intense relationship in the most undemanding manner possible. We found each other in a remote corner of the world, both from different countries - and ended up falling in love in a very profound yet friendly way. It was an incredibly happy three years, and ended due to life changes that become irreconcilable. We still have our connection I think - it immediately comes out whenever we talk when we do, I think 8th house inspires a lot of unconditional feeling. He's a tremendous person, and I think we were brought together to heal each other in various ways.

So to answer your question, destined to fail or sustained obsession, I would argue about the terms you extrapolate the possibilities. I think any obsession, by way of its very nature, is doomed to fail. An obsession is unwavering and deaf - it does not know how to transform and adapt. But I feel that Plutonion relationships have very sustained impacts on an individual, which doesn't necessarily mean they will last forever.

The 8th house relationship I mentioned is an epitome of this, I think. It was incredibly happy and very conflict-free during the time it lasted, and it ended due to things outside our control. I think we loved each other in a sustained, reliable way quite strongly throughout the relationship and some time after that. I still maintain very fond, from another life sort of unconditional love for this person. I wish nothing but the best for him. The ending of the relationship was quietly devastating -not explosive or bitter. I learned a tremendous amount about myself, and it has created so many of the principles that guide me now in other relationships. So in this way, it was both destined to fail (meaning that it had to end when it did) and sustained. I think we still may be obsessed with one another as people.

Hope this answers your question!

I am currently in another 8th house relationship - this time it's quite demanding, the relationship itself is like an incredibly lovable child that needs a lot of attention. I really think it depends a lot on where the 8H rests.

I think it depends on the people - especially if they already are 8th H/Scorpio influenced people...

I have Leo Sun/Mercury in the 8th H and I'm dating a Gemini Sun with his Sun, Venus and Mars in 8th.

My Jupiter is in his 8th H - which is my chart ruler in Gemini and my Venus is trine his pluto.

But our composite is a Scorpio ascendant w/ Saturn on the ASC and a 8th Stellium w/ Sun, mercury and Venus in the 8th H. Pretty intense.

I think had we both not acknowledged that we had a connection - the relationship would've ceased, But I opened up and had to fight old relationship patterns and have basically broke through them in a transformative way.

He definitely seems like the love of my life which explains the heaviness of 8th house connections and he is even more loving and affectionate than any partner I've had, he practically worships me, but I don't take advantage of this and we seem to have a healthy relationship. We are already moving in together after 1 year.

I think Plutonian relationships are those types of relationships that would only last if both parties in the relationship were Plutonian by nature. It is not for the faint of heart and not for people looking for something cute and fluttery and old-timey like a movie from the 1940s. Very intense of nature and lots of commitment and almost spiritual/psychological connections at play. If you, natally, are the type to care for or like psychological connections or deep mind plays then I would say it is possible the circumstances around would eventually have it so that you (whoever is the one who is not Plutonian) would eventually have to give and let go of that relationship. I say this as someone who is Plutonian natally. I already know I cannot date or marry someone who is not similar to me (Plutonian). The relationship will most likely suffer if I do. I need those psychological connections and deep, intense moments of mind pecking to feel loved. All the people I have seriously been interested (and who have shown serious interest in me) in are either a fellow Plutonian by natal or our synastry and/or composite becomes Plutonian.

I would pray for a non-Plutonian who enters a relationship with a Plutonian or with a Plutonian composite/synastry lol. Will you make it out alive? I hope but who knows.

So, I guess the real question to the OP is: Are you Plutonian by nature? Not say that non-Plutonians always fail in these types of relationships, but it will definitely be a struggle of torment and obsession for you if you are not natally Plutonian and can't stand that type of intensity for too long. It would be like breathing down your neck or scratching a fork up against your teeth. It'll irk in tiny spots at some point.

Everything Capricorncheriscty said is on point. I have a stellium in the 8th (Virgo) and my love has a stellium in the 8th as well (Aqua) and we just get each other. Such a blessing! : )
I'm sure it's exciting to get that energy as a new experience, but both parties need to want to go to the depths and rummage around, feel passionate about deep transformation, regardless of old woundings, and dive into self work- it's not for the faint of heart...
If it's maturely embraced, it can be a world of such substance and divine magic.

Exactly! Yes to ALL of that. It can survive, but only if you can handle it.

Would you guys say a person with thise 3 aspects:

1-Pluto Square Mercury which is conjunct DC exactly.

2-Pluto in Scorpio in 8th house.

3- Pluto Inconjunct Moon in Aries by 2 degrees makes a person plutonic enough?

Of course maybe the whole chart has to be posted, But yeah Thise 3 is the only pluto aspects he has.

I wanted to start a thread about this, I feel plutonic relationships (hard aspects) provoke a lot of anxiety and long term you can develop an anxiety disorder or pathological jealousy in some cases. Usually the person who is less detached and plutonic when looking at each natal carries the burden of having to consistently manage their anxiety and fears as they don't feel in control in the relationship.

Yes plutonic relationships generate a strong attraction and pull towards each other but I am not sure if the cost is worth it bc is like that person is constantly activating your fears and bringing them to surface and I am realizing is not as simple as you work through your fears and then the anxiety goes away, every time you come in contact with them the fight or flight mechanism gets activated and fears resurface all over again and again due to the heavy intense nature of pluto and sense of urgency that pluto brings to the surface.

When pluto forms hard aspects in Davison or Synastry specially involving tsquares or if the 8th house is involved, it gets complicated, its not light and simple when pluto so strongly activates the synastry or davison.

I’m rather ambivalent about Pluto. I only like the energy when both parties a brave enough to go there.

When there is an imbalance, it can get messy.

Nothing is more binding for me than Saturn. Throw Pluto in there and I’m going no nowhere.

On a side note, there are quite a few of my work colleagues (who I manage) that have Pluto conjunct my Mars, and for three of them, this conjunction is on their Asc. For some reason, I just don’t get enthralled by this aspect - does nothing for me.

Just goes to show, everyone is different and you need more contacts to activate aspects.

Do you get irritated by them by chance? Annoyed somewhat?

I have only become irritated by one of them, I actually made her cry (I didn’t do anything bad either), but we work well together and have had only one run-in.

Two of them are relatively junior staff (although in their mid twenties) and I mentor them and help develop their career. Interestingly, I sense their intrigue in me; I just dont reciprocate.

With this aspect I just don’t feel the sexy manifestation people speak of.

But, maybe because I am their boss that this part of the aspect doesn’t play out. I am quite a dominant presence at work (mars/Saturn/Pluto in tenth house of Scorpio).

I was going to say that it’s because of my Saturn piggybacking my Mars that I don’t feel it.

But nah, when someones Venus or moon touches my mars, I turn into a monster. 😊
