I've been researching the Arabic points lately, and checked the Arabic points for marriage in my chart and my ex husband's chart on the day we married.

The Jupiter transit was conjunct my Arabic point of marriage of a woman and transit Uranus was conjunct my Arabic point of marriage. In my ex husband's chart, transit moon was conjunct his Arabic point of marriage for a man. There was no major transit to his Arabic point of marriage.

Wondering if anyone else has looked at these points at the time of marriage and if so, what have you found? Thanks in advance.

I have not looked at these for marriage but I check them for other things. More so in synastry than in transits.

As an aside, I remember you from years ago. You had a relationship that was building and looked promising. Are you still in it? I always am curious about the longevity of the relationships we bring to LL for perusal!

I apologize if that's too forward, but I really enjoyed your posts from back then and always liked hearing from you and about you.

Hi Stonemoon. I also checked the synastry between these points with my ex, but did not see anything profound. The transits to those points on the day of marriage seemed to be more telling.

Which points do you use and what have you found?

Yes, lol. I am in the same relationship. Still in love as is he. We have our moments but always find our way back.

Go figure.

Thank you for your sweet complement.

I am so happy to hear that! You are always like a voice of calm and reason on here, that's why I remember you.

I look at part of love, lovers, destiny, karma, sexual desire... I do have part of marriage on there. Ironically, now that you mentioned it... The only thing in my chart it touches is a sextile to Pluto and trine to Neptune. But the man that had my heart and I wanted to marry (but he didn't return the feelings) had his moon on my Neptune, hence trine this part. I am not sure how significant I think they are. Haven't decided really.

There are many people who look at Parts of Marriage for the time of the wedding & the Solar Returns before. I don't remember where I've run into it over the years but have been glancing at Nance McCullough's Love Formulas 2 (from the early 80s & IMO dreary with what she allows for orbs for squares, but NVM that now) where pages 36-41 look at some of those, as well as a later chapter entirely to do with Arabic Parts.

What you list is consistent with things listed by her. "Consistently occurring with marriages" are e.g.

1) Transiting Jupiter conj one partner's PoM at time of wedding
2) Transiting Sun conj another PoM of same above native at his second marriage
3) PoM was Ascendant degree of Solar Return previous to one marriage.

Arabic Chart Ascendant = ASC + ASC - Sun
Other Arabic chart planets = ASC + (planet)- Sun

She cites Carl Payne Tobey and Grant Lewi as using Arabic parts (& heliocentric planetary nodes) extensively. Transits to the Arabic chart are as per her sometimes more effective than if touching the natal planet. There is talk of progressions & other things tying to possible timings or "marriage situations" and hits from the Arabic chart planets to the Solar Return (or vice versa) for clues to marital outcomes, e.g.

For example, transiting Sun & Moon in the 7th house of the Arabic chart at the time of marriage.
Solar Return Sun+ Moon conjunct in SR 9th house, "marriage situation" and the marriage occurred overseas.
Ruler of both Arabic chart & SR's 7th house is Jupiter at 15 Aries. The person's Arabic chart Venus at 13 Libra is Lord of the natal Ascendant, no planetary aspects to natal chart.
SR Saturn at 14 Libra conjunct Arabic chart Venus at 13 Libra, natal ASC-ruler as above, "in natal 4th house of home. This marriage was burdensome with no outlets past the home. This degree of SR Saturn was not involved with any natal chart planets to reveal this situation."

There are things akin the above (many omitted even from that particular example) listed in the two sections of that book alone and I imagine there are others out there who have written more extensively about whatever such that I don't happen to own.

I have my next Solar Return's Ascendant conjunct what I consider my "main" PoM and 2 others hit by the SR Mercury & Eros, whether the latter counts or not. So you could say I have some slight vested interest in the topic, although if I'm going to suddenly barge into marriage the next year or so, someone is leaving it rather late in showing up to marry in the first place. No matter how massive the SR 7th house with said Mercury and Sun-Juno conjunct Venus conj Vertex conjunct Mars all 5 tightly slumped together.

The SR chart will also have Saturn & Pluto in its first house so based on things read, I suppose it could also throw spanners in the works as well. My Arabic Ascendant is however at 14 Cancer & the SR Saturn will hit its exact DSC at 14 Cancer around that time, as if to denote additions to responsibilities, an older man or whatever all you can conjure up from Saturn in general. Saturn as my Arabic DC-ruler & the SR ASC-ruler seems significant, but I have no idea if it's merely going to be burdens galore or added responsibilities how.

McCullough writes:
"Mercury of the SR at 4 Pisces 24 sextiles Arabic Mars at 4 Taurus 08 and reveals the mental broadening this marriage accomplished (again not within one degree to any natal planets. SR Mercury is two degrees from natal Sun."

I have no idea if a SR chart with 7H Mercury trine SR 11H Jupiter will bring intellectual broadening through groups or what even theoretically, but the SR Mercury does hit my Arabic Venus, one of the Parts of Marriage/Love, so can only hope for the best. All this being theoretical or conjecture based on information in the book on my part unless happen to run into a future partner the next year or so, but to give an idea of various ways she uses them, bumped this up to the top.

You mentioned Uranus, which is my DSC ruler. I have no idea if my SR Uranus-Moon conjunction squaring my ASC-DC is possibly significant in my personal case but... She talks of ASC- & DC-rulers in relation to the Arabic & progressed charts as well as the Solar return ones, so theoretically it would stand to reason even something like Uranus could have similar effects. All the more as Moon is my Arabic ASC-ruler & having it conjunct the natal DSC-ruler... maybe significant?

If you could check the Solar Return charts from before your marriage, I'd like to hear if there are further hits there.

How do you calculate Arabic chart?

Jupiter transit my PoM when I was 26yo. I was with my ex and we did think of marriage but it didn't happen.

Jupiter won't transit that point for many more years lol so no marriage anymore?

As included above.

Arabic Chart Ascendant = ASC + ASC - Sun
Other Arabic chart planets = ASC + (planet)- Sun

McCullough uses equal houses for everything but for that chart they're kind of automatically it in any case. The Arabic chart she talks about will always have the Arabic Sun on the natal Ascendant as I recall (since it's ASC + Sun - Sun for it).

The formulas used for parts of catastrophe or whatever there are out there use planets like Saturn & the rest already in any case so if having used an Arabic parts calculator, you may already know most of the "Arabic chart" planet positions in any case.

As likewise quoted, Sun & Moon & progressions as well as SR ASCs & ASC/DC-rulers were all likewise used. Venus & Jupiter being the benefics, it's possible Venus has some use for things at times as well, but Jupiter was the first in the example used by her.

There are also about 5-6 different Part of Marriage formulas which she lists as having been used by different people, and those still didn't have 1-2 I think were offered for women in some online calculator, so there isn't a one PoM only. Some seem more valid than others though. She also writes "conjunct one partner's PoM", not discernible if not knowing the other person's PoM locations.
