I notice that when I read about this aspect, it says the Neptune person is the one who lies but I feel like it can be the opposite sometimes. My Neptune squares my boyfriend Mercury and lately we've been arguing about me catching him in lies but he claims I misinterpret what he says. He tends to change his stories around a lot and when I call him out on it, he accuses me of not hearing him correctly or not listening. It has to be this aspect that's causing so much tension in our communication lately. Btw his Mercury square my Sun, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune so I'm not surprised at us bickering so much. Please tell me your opinions and if this is something we can get past.IP: Logged |

Does your bf have Neptune square Mercury natally?I've this aspect with my guy (or ex?) and yes, I can relate to what you said. My Neptune square his Mercury and he has this aspect in natal. He also always said that I didn't pay attention to what he said but I find him utterly confusing! Sometimes he said I misunderstood him. It's very frustrating... I felt he couldn't say things in a straightforward manner and it made me wonder if he was lying. I don't know how to get past this...we're still in contact and communication can still be confusing. We also have Mercury square Saturn/Venus, opposite Mars. I think our saving grace is we've Sun trine Mercury DW. I think with all the other Mercury Squares in your case, it makes things even harder. Don't you have other nice Mercury aspects? IP: Logged |

Can't talk for the getting past it part... But you shouldn't look at it in the sense of one lying to another. It's more so the perception of it. Neptune's influence is certainly strong, but I've witnessed it the other way around, me being the Mercury. However his Mercury squares my Sun too. As the Mercury person I have to say he confuses the s*** out of me. Something so standard I always realize after the fact that I was just wrong about my understanding of it. And it's definitely not him. Cuz after rethinking it I'm actually like 'oh he actually was clear about it' which I understood in a completely different light at first. First step is to be aware that he's not in the wrong for your misinterpretations. And communicating the issue certainly helps. IP: Logged |

Oh, I realised that my brother also has Neptune square his wife's Mercury and she has a Pisces Mercury at that (lol). I witnessed the same miscommunication between them. Brenda is right that it doesn't necessarily mean deception but it can come across that way because the messages are so confusing to the other.IP: Logged |

I'm just remembering some guy that literally always tells me that he never understands what I'm saying lol. He's approximately the same age as this other guy I mentioned, just born several months later so Neptune would be at a closer square to my Mercury. So yeah always made me frustrated that he's some idiot or something. I mean I just said basic stuff nothing Earth shattering. But I'm thinking it's definitely not him cuz I believe other people communicate with him fine. IP: Logged |

Interestingly, this isn't an uncommon aspect between couples. My friend also has this with her husband.IP: Logged |

Yes, he has natal Mercury square Neptune with other planets squaring his Mercury but everything you just said is what I go thru with him. He always say I never listen to him but I do, I just feel he exaggerate his stories sometimes. It's a real annoying aspect to have

I agree, maybe I just perceive it differently than what he meant. Definitely will work being more understanding and not accusing him of not being truthful. IP: Logged |
