Someone’s Mars is about 7 degrees away from my Venus and conjunct my Jupiter exact. I am wondering if you could still feel the Mars conjunct Venus at that wide an orb. I don’t feel much but maybe it is because both my Jupiter and Venus are in the 12th house although Venus very close to ASC. Wondering if the Mars person might feel it? IP: Logged |

Mars is very jarring. You are likely to feel it-especially if someone's Mars sits on your angles. With this orb, more time spent with the person may be needed to infer what is happening. Typically speaking the Mars person relates to you in a way that is brusque. The result is often that they either annoy you or warm you. The tight orbs react faster. I don't like Scorpio Mars to my Venus in Scorpio. They irritate me. But be that as it may however,I had a sexual "encounter" with one and couldn't understand why I felt both irritation and attraction for him? I was actually ashamed of letting that happen. Sleeping with someone that I had initially judged as wholly "inappropriate" and crasp. Then BAM! I learned that his Mars is conjunct my Venus in Scorpio exact. Mars/Venus also creates confusing love(Venus)/ hate(Mars) vibes. Its sometimes hard to know what is happening coz the Mars person can (at worst) be very mean to the Venus individual. I never told my friends we got intimate. To this day, they all think I don't like him. And I get the impression that he too is avoiding me-I guess he also didn't expect that to happen. Or is at least conflicted about it.

I had a coworkers (female) Mars conjunct my (male) Venus by about 3 degrees and it did nothing to me.While we had no problems what so ever getting along i didnt feel an ounce of attraction. I hesitate to say that i like any physical traits more than another. But this woman have nothing that i find appealing so that may also have to be accounted for. IP: Logged |

Thank you Aries23degrees and Scandinaviancrab for your thoughts! Do you think the 7 degrees is too wide to be felt? I’m wondering if they feel something even though I am not. They do tease in a mean manner sometimes and could be cold/moody.IP: Logged |

Do you know their birth time? For example a Cancer Sun with a Virgo Mars in its 12th house (thats me) will/can be subtle as hell. You can be left "bread crumbs" that has to be deciphired for signs of affection. It depends on the synastry. Look at their chart for clues of how they approach love and take it from there. Orbits only matter if you are judging outer planets. Which are related to generational connections. especially, Uranus, Pluto and Neptune. and sometimes NN and SN.You do not have to feel every single aspect. Like you wont feel romantic attraction to a family member, and you wont feel friendship vibes towards someone you consider as an enemy. They all relate as an over all look at your synastry chart while judging karma and past life connection and what the rule of this relationship in your life journey. IP: Logged |

I think what should be emphasized here is that not every Venus/Mars interplay will lead to physical attraction. I have Mars opposite my sister's Venus and I think here it manifests as an ability to get along. But with Venus /Mars, one must "manage" relationship because it can also escalate towards arguments and dislike. Any planet either influenced by Mars/ in house 8 or 1 or ruled by Mars, needs supervision ans management in personal and interpersonal relationships as it tends to go to "war" easily.
So for you, as I stated in the previous thread, examine how the nature of your relationship unfolds as you get to know each other. Wider orbs may take more time to get started. You could just have a platonic friendship that allows you to get on. But with Mars therein, there will likely be bottleneck situations as Mars either irritates or is the one who is irritated. This is especially so when Mars is in Aries or Scorpio. Whilst if Venus is in Aries or Scorpio, there is either strong like or strong dislike of the other. You are either getting on or not even interested in each other's names etc. @ScandinavianCrab I lived with someone whom had Venus Libra conjunct my Mars in Libra within a tight 2 degree orb. Add to that Moon in opposition to Mars also tight. We didn't get on to a point of friendship. But we were cohabiting and so we were civil to each other. As time went on however and we were around each other much more, there was a rapport. Albeit there were instances where he sorely annoyed me (His Moon square my Moon), I am sure my Mars also irritated him. Strangers at a job may not immediately gravitate towards each other because of this aspect alone. As I am surmising from your post that you liken it to physical attraction. No.Not at all. At least not always. You can also feel a strong physical attraction for someone who does not have Venus/Mars contacts to you. This Venus/Mars contact is based on the ability to get along long-term as Planets do not "dictate", they support. People with aspects in synastry between Venus/Mars tend to get on on one hand as they don't have the spirit(Mars) or actions of one party constantly undermine the positive state of mind(Venus) or outlook of the other. Whilst also on the other hand, it is true that formidable opponents/ competitors can have a Venus/Mars aspects because Mars is heat and may not kautau to Venus' love for peace and understanding. Mars can spur Venus to be more competitive or reflectct Mars' more aggressive energy. If there is physical attraction,Venus/Mars can compound it so much that the two people rush(Mars) into an agreement/marriage/relationship or sex(Venus). A break-up is of course almost always imminent as Mars is(once again) heat. But so is a make-up soon after that "break-up". Venus/Mars is a strongly contradictory relation of energies as is Venus/Pluto,Moon/Mars,Moon/Uranus, Venus/Uranus. As with all of these, there is a push/pull dynamic that is likely unavoidable.

Venus can show Mars how to be more sensual and responsive, whereas Mars is able to prompt Venus to go spontaneously and directly for what they desire. (Lyn Birkbeck - Relationship Astrology.) Teasing, appearing to be indifferent and being moody are sometimes used by (a not yet mature) Mars to say "I like you, so come and get me - if you want to". ... And, denial of feelings for Mars, is sometimes used by Venus to say 'I like you, so come and get me - if you want to". Hence, my guess is that you can "make happen what you want to happen". ... But that requires you to be honest with yourself (about what you really do want to happen).

@aries23 you are always so helpful with tons of information and sharing your own experiences. We have been working with each other for 3 years. I think it would be felt if there is attraction at this point but maybe because there is no attraction. I do think it actually helps our productivity at work but could border on a bit of fighting or tension. Which never crosses the line because we both respect each other and like debating and figuring things out together. His Mars also conjunct my Jupiter exact so this could also help with action in the work place.@graham you are probably right about the teasing and moodiness being an immature Mars. I can see how he is immature in some ways but does not bother me that much. He is also a Gemini so I think the teasing and moodiness can just be a part of his personality lol. @childofvenus good to know it can be felt at a wider orb. Ours are in the same sign as well his Mars at Leo 0.5 and my Venus at Leo 7.5. Maybe since my Jupiter is at 0 Leo and ASC is at 8 Leo this even adds to it all. IP: Logged |

Not an issue. I love being here. I learn so much as well.Sorry about the long information and detail. I have Sun/Jupiter conjunct in Sag and Mercury/Sun parallel Jupiter in 9th. I never know when i have gone overboard as Mercury and Jupiter are both dominants in my chart IP: Logged |

I;d suggest tracking it yourself as Mars and Venus are going to conjunct in Virgo soon...maybe clock where it is in your chart, and pay attention to the build up...then use that as a reference and decide...I honestly think it depends on the person, some people are more dense in terms of shifts, not in a negative sense necessarily, but more like it has to be strong for them to notice...others are very sensitive and can smell Venus conjunct Mars a good week or two before it exacts. Also see how far out you can track its effect...approaching vs separating is interesting to watch in real time.IP: Logged |

I don't like Mars directly on my Moon/Venus/SN. It also squares my own Mars. My BIL has that, and he hit on me several times, and destroyed my relationship with my sister. He destroyed a good chunk of my life. I loathe him, was never attracted. On the other hand, I have been very attracted to a man who has Venus in Pisces, and his Mars was trine my own. My Mars is in Pisces, but not conjunct his Venus. If you use a very large conjunction, it's conjunct his Jupiter, but they are all in the same sign.
