I often read how Pluto conjunct Moon in synastry can indicate particularly intense or obsessional relationships and exert a power of attraction up there with Venus conjunct Mars.

But given how slowly Pluto moves, isn't this a bit unlikely and possibly overblown? Surely this would mean the Moon person would be obsessed with an entire years worth of people, which doesn't sound that likely.

What if your Moon was conjunct Pluto when you were born? You'd be obsessed with your whole class whilst growing up! And they'd be obsessed with you!

Any thoughts?

I can chime in on this one. Here’s my personal experience. So my progressed moon went into Scorpio about two years ago and I ended up meeting a man with Pluto in Scorpio. As the year progressed and my moon crossed over his Pluto and then his mars in Scorpio as well (lord help me) I became absolutely obsessed with this man. Although I’m slightly Plutonian myself, I do not have moon Conjunct Pluto in my natal so this feeling was very foreign and uncomfortable for me. I think it also depends on the signs and houses it falls into. For instance Pluto and mars rule Scorpio so it was that much more Intense AND his Scorpio placements fell into my 5th house of sex and romance so it was really amped up.

I think if you have natal moon/Pluto you are able to handle the energy dynamic better but I also think it depends on other aspects involved (ie. House placements, signs, and other contributing factors in synastry. )

Believe me I have experienced the effect of the slower moving planets their definitively there. I was shocked when I read about Venus/Pluto in synastry once and how accurate it was and Neptune oh my gosh I hate when this daughter of a confusing thing does anything in synastry. You are not going to interact, obsess or be attracted to every person who's Pluto touches your moon but with those you do some of the Pluto things or maybe all of it might start happening even with friends and family.
