I'm starting to see someone and every things going really well so far. The only problem is that their mars squares my ascendant but at the same time their venus conjuncts my ascendant (3 orbs each). I wanted to know if these cancel out, and if the negative conflicts diminish because of it. I have personally seen the effects of a mars squaring my personal planets and it aint pretty.

I wouldn't say so.
It helps to keep things smooth, but you'll definitely still see that square. It's just that it might seem worth it to deal with it. (More good than bad, OR more bad than good.) Could go either way. There's a lot of other factors in synastry, natal, etc

It is more common to see at least a few hard aspects in a synastry chart than none at all. It just depends which ones are worth tolerating, and how much it affects both people. You have to experience what it's like in real life before you jump to any conclusions. They do add a little of spice to a relationship though, so if they are tolerable they generate just enough heat to keep things interesting long-term. Too complacent and a relationship becomes boring or too "familiar" (almost like a sibling or close friend).

Difficult synastry aspects between the personal planets/points of the two people create personality clashes (rather than long-term issues that may threaten the relationship).

If person A's Mars squares Person B's ascendant ... B is likely to be offended by A's way of asserting him/herself - and to react to it in a way that turns that assertiveness into anger.

So ... B is learning to be more assertive (and less defensive) - and A is learning to be less forceful (and to count to 10 before acting in anger).

However ... if A's Venus is also conjunct B's ascendant, there will be an affinity between the two people which enables them to learn by laughing at those Mars-square-Ascendant misunderstandings.

And, no matter where the fight/misunderstanding occurs ... when Mars is involved, be prepared to resolve it by "getting a room"
