Topic: Sidereal (verdict?) to Tropical in synastry

Can you compare sidereal to Tropical in synastry? In sidereal I have a Cancer Venus/ ASC conjunction making my descendant Capricorn. Would this mean I look for traits of Capricorn in Tropical as well? IP: Logged |

No. It makes no sense to compare charts using systems that can't even agree on the position of objects in space. Sidereal is only good for two things, nakshatras and dashas. IP: Logged |

You can look for traits of Capricorn. But not traits for Cap IN Tropical. You either use one of the systems to look for things you want within the system. Just remember they don't use the same planets, and your house/planets placements may change from one system to another. Sidereal only uses 9 planets, while Tropical uses 12.
There are other differences of course. As Bismarck mentionned, the Sidereal has a whole different "methodology". Like Nakshatras and Dashas, etc. Maybe see in which system you see yourself more and go from there. For example, I found that I was a Taurus Venus in Sidereal - Gemini Venus in Tropical, and I feel like the Sidereal Venus describes me more. But I appreciate both systems. x IP: Logged |

I always think that analyzing both your tropical and your sidereal chart thoroughly is best when it comes down to finding out specific details. Usually what I've seen is that if you find a very good tropical astrologer and a very good sidereal astrologer, they say the same things in regards to aspects, sign placements and where a planet is sitting, etc. But to answer your question, in Sidereal astrology since you have Can ASC you would look for someone fitting your 7th house DESC which is Cap.
In tropical astrology you have Leo ASC so you would look for someone fitting your 7th house in AQU. Both Cap and Aqu are ruled by Saturn.
Therefore you will look for someone who aspects your Saturn and who has Saturn qualities no matter if you chose to go by sidereal or tropical astrology, making it easy for you! Lucky you!
