Hi, I've started seeing someone recently and we are both very clear that we want to get married and start a family with someone (I'm late-30's, he's early 40's). We don't currently live in the same geographic area, but he is coming to meet me this weekend and things have developed quickly. I think I'm less sure than he is about compatibility, but I'm open. We have some interesting composite aspects going on and I'm curious what insights folks have on these - specifically kite and anvil or fish formations integrated together, so that there's a small star at the top of the kite (additional sextiles with two squares).

How would you all interpret this type of dual formation in the composite? I can interpret each aspect individually, but what does it mean taken together? I’ve seen conflicting information on how to interpret a kite, and nothing on interpreting multiple formations grouped together. Also, in synastry we have a couple of north node aspects. His NN conjuncts my ascendant in Virgo, and his Mars-Venus conjunction in Taurus sextiles my NN in Cancer. Will this generally create the sense that two people are meant to be together?

The only difference is either a much more exact or slightly wider orb. I know and used my exact birth time.***

He arrived yesterday and we spent the day together. I don’t want to reveal anything (yet) before anyone’s had a chance to respond, but could definitely use some insight! Plus just curious how others read these types of formations.

Looking at the Composite, the Kite suggests that a transformation of your lives structures or compromise is required in order to make things work out according to your expectations, long distance might be an issue with Chiron in Taurus square Sun and Saturn in Libra is a challenge in the stability of the relationship, again in the Kite there is wishful thinking and you seem to be on the same page, even so you might need to constantly question the relationship and make things clear/open up about the other's intentions and committment with Jupiter/Saturn square Neptune.
With the North Node/Mercury/Venus conjunction, you have a strong mind connection and you might feel you're made for each other.
Chiron/Moon midpoint square Venus signals a strong intimacy and emotional connection, but difficult to be expressed/fulfilled in a stable way.
The Uranus square is too wide to be considered, otherwise it would signal a strong fated connection but adding instability and uncertainty to your future plans. The Saturn/Uranus midpoint is opposite Moon, so again this signals instability and a challenge in long term plans that would fulfill your emotional connection.
Without his TOB it is difficult to speculate about long term and if there's a potential stable future. If you find out his TOB, please let me know.

Thanks, Stoika7. Now that the weekend is over and he's back home, the best way I can describe things is that we're missing the mark. We have quite different personalities and the attraction seems to be one-sided (he is attracted to me physically and otherwise, but I don't find him physically attractive and I don't feel like we're connecting or that he gets me). It feels more like platonic and emotional affection rather than passionate, sexual affection. All in all, I felt disappointed. We both had high hopes that this would be it - we would be each others' person. I think he still believes that, but I'm not seeing it.

Sorry about your disappointment... The Jupiter/Neptune square might actually suggest a disappointment or that things don't play out as expected... Saturn in Libra and Chiron in Taurus might also suggest a lack of physical compatibility, and most of all none of his planets fall on your 7th or 8th house (if you are on the inside)... Probably with his TOB we might see other aspects for compatibility clearer, in any case though, Composite Chiron in Taurus square Sun looks like a lack of basic elements and the other Composite aspects I have mentioned suggest strong uncertainity... So I would say this matches with your feelings, even though I can't find a complete incompatibility (astrologically). With the Composite Moon/Pluto opposition forming the Kite, there's an element of transformation, so it's possible that this meeting might somehow be significant even if not in a romantic/long term perspective.

I'm not too familiar with Chiron in compatibility, so thanks for those interpretations.

In synastry, I'm actually the outer ring, so his Moon-Venus-Mars conjunction falls toward the end of my 8th house.

One thing I noticed in his natal chart, is that the only Pluto aspect he has is generational (sextile Neptune). Pluto touches nearly everything in my natal chart (I have an intense natal chart in general). And our composite is Pluto heavy with the kite.

To me, he doesn't seem to be a very deep person. He also admits this. He told me that if I'm ever wondering what he's thinking about, it's probably pretty obvious and nothing too deep. He has more of a pollyanna type attitude. While I appreciate his positivity, there seems to be a lack of depth and realness to our interactions and I'm left feeling as though a major part of me is not able to be expressed and not able to connect with him.

Having thought about it more, I think that's the major issue I see. If there were more depth, it could potentially override biological attraction and lead to some chemistry. But based on things as they are, the chemistry is not being activated.

I see what you mean. His Venus/Moon/Mars actually look passionate, with the square to Jupiter he likely enjoys outgoing relaxed relationship though, avoiding that kind of intensity you're looking for... He mainly seems to lack a clear direction in life since Saturn is in 1st house and Neptune is square the Nodes, looking like someone who has a difficult perception of his own inner personality, this is also an aspect that might make difficult for him to carry a stable relationship, this doesnt necessarily mean he's not a deep person, just that he might have a big self-assertiveness issue...
