First off ,I think you are confusing intense passion with love.
Eris is square to the syelkium of Uranus/Neptune/moon.this is indeed a very intense sexual connection but in no indicates a continuing love.
Venus is conjunct to mercury so there is very affectionate and joyous connection .enjoy being with each other.Mars is trine to Venus so the attraction is clear, but the trine is not particularly binding.the intensity as I said resides with eris in this chart.
The Juno/Jupiter midpoint is conjunct the sun so there is a sense or yearning g for a extended or committed relationship.
But Saturn is opposed to Orcus which puts a damper on those feelings.
Chiron is square to Pluto which likewise shows a coldness to the relationship.this aspect isolating and usually is unfavorable because it is quite insensitive and critical .
You need to follow his lead and let this go.
Your feelings of intensity and even a sense of destiny are misplaced.
The vertex is square the node, which always give a almost otherworldly attraction, but rarely shows a relationship will form.this square adds a intensity that is not of earth plane and this aspect very often shows one partner who becomes obsessive and will not take no for a answer.
So to answer your question, the intensity of the time together was good but if you do not let go then this aspect can become extremely destructive.
If you persist then you will lose any chance of keeping him as a good friend.there is zero chance that you will remain intimate lovers because you would accept anything besides Fidelity
