The other one is of a past "relationship" which was very short-lived, but felt like destiny at the time for both of us. It was full of coincidences (even the way we met) and it was very intense but ended very abruptly because he basically ghosted me..Not making excuses but I think it was more out of immaturity that he behaved so cowardly and selfishly at that time. Since then he tried to reach out every year for the past 4 years, but I didn't respond because I didn't know his motives and we were both in relationships. This year I finally responded because I thought he must have felt very guilty for his behaviour if he was so persistent and wanted to give him the chance to alleviate some of that guilt...I dont have any ill feelings or anything and I had moved on.

He sent me really long excuses and audio messages apologizing, telling me he was stupid and he regretted many times his behavior in the past years. That I'm a very special person for him and that he thinks he'll always regret and wonder what could have been if he had behaved differently…He said he had no ulterior motives (not so sure about that) other than wanting to let me know that it was never my fault, but his..I thanked him and wished him the best.
Only now 5 months later I'm thinking if there's something there. I think he's also unhappy in his relationship and he also felt so strongly about me then, despite our short relationship and him ending it like that. Especially comparing what I felt with him in the beginning to what I felt with my current boyfriend and there is no comparison…I love my boyfriend a lot but I've never felt like that with him, not even in the honeymoon phase. And because one of our issues is chemistry and sexual incompatibility it makes me wonder…

Sorry for the wall of text but is there anything special in those synastry charts? Does one relationship seem more "compatible" than the other?

The synastry with the Taurus is much better. Sun/Venus conjunct the descendant is an ideal partnership aspect. Pluto opposite Sun can create power struggles.
