I'm male and have noticed that I'm romantically attracted to partners whose natal Venus falls below my horizon. Why is that? My most powerful physical lover's Venus is in Sagittarius in my 4th House. She is Taurus rising and my Venus is in her 2nd House and Gemini.

What are your own experiences with Venus below the horizon synastry?

Sounds like it's more related to it being in your 4th House, rather than below the horizon. 4th House is an Angular (active, amplifying), important House that relates to home, family, and one's deeper roots whether from childhood, home/family, and/or other lives (it's a very past oriented area).

When a partner's Venus is "captured" in our 4th House, it can indicate a deeper sense of emotional security between them, having good times at each others homes, some attraction/fascination with each other that is deeper in nature, etc. Sometimes there is also a tension, especially if the Planet is square our Asc degree. But in the right circumstances, that can make things more exciting.

It's not just 4th House. I feel a powerful attraction to another whose natal Venus falls in my 1st House and my Venus is in her 5th House. And yet another whose Venus falls in my 5th House.

"The Northern Hemisphere is comprised of Houses 1 through 6—the lower half of the chart (below the horizon). This is the personal and subjective portion of the chart. These houses rule areas of life that directly impact the development of our personalities and help shape our individual identities."

Again, the nature of those Houses as well, indicate a strong attraction.

Houses 1, 4, 5, 7, and 8 show up most strongly in very strong attractions and/or strong connections. It doesn't have much to do with horizons.

It has to do with the specific meanings and associations of those Houses.

1-self/body, 4-home/family/past/psychological roots, 5-literally romance, romantic attraction, and sex itself, 7--others, particularly close and/or affecting relationships, 8-shared resources, merging energetically, shadow work, etc
