If so ... the challenge might be that (in the past life) she raised you as a substitute-mother, thus creating a subconscious barrier to the two of you interacting as lovers (in the current lifetime) - perhaps manifesting as age-gaps; cultural differences or/and a "disapproving" social circle/environment.

So ... note how those current circumstances are actually just "glass walls" in the western world of today, but would have been insurmountable obstacles in the world/environment of the past life shared by the two of you. ... I imagine it as a slave (her) in Ancient Egypt, who raised the child (you) of her owners. So, it was not possible for them to (openly) pursue the love which developed between them as/when the child became an adult. But the bond/relationship was always one of mutual love and respect.

Hence ... I'd expect her biggest concerns about having a relationship with you in this lifetime to be expressed as "I am old enough to be your mother", "we are from different backgrounds/cultures" , "my friends/family would blank me" and "your family/friends would 'kill' me".
