I have natal sun semi-sextile venus. Does this mean that I won't be able to find someone that I'm both physically attracted and emotionally connected to? I mean, if sun trines his moon (or other planets), it will square (or quincunx) my venus. Therefore, either my ego will be hurt, or the sense of enjoyment will suffer. I wonder if this might have caused my "pickiness" and maybe I should just learn to settle.IP: Logged |

Hello royalflush! This may be how things turn out, but there is a whole picture of your charts to consider, & I don’t believe astrology is deterministic ... even if the aspects between your planets didn’t look promising, you could look at declinations & find you have some parallels or contraparallels which also flavour your dynamic with each other in a good way To me charts are like a roadmap, the sense they make depends on our attitude, framework & interpretation as much as raw aspects/information - at the very least, one aspect does not *necessarily* make or break your experience of relationship I’d look at signs and houses of your Sun & Venus, or your whole chart, to get more of a picture of what may be the “blocks” to you finding relationship & what kind of relationship could work best for you ... we’re all complex wonderful beings & if you want a relationship, I bet there’s someone out there who can match you in all of who you are, in a holistic way IP: Logged |

@Randall Thanks! Hope to learn more from the community@livvywatermonkey Thanks for the kind advice! I just feel like I'm way behind the curve in terms of dating and relationship. I find it really difficult getting myself out into the dating pool. I'm getting better at managing my social anxiety but I have a feeling it's gonna take a long journey of self-discovery and I'm not getting any younger. IP: Logged |

For emotional connection I would look more to the moon than the sun... Also, livvy is right, there is way more to consider. I would look more at house placements, especially in synastry, which houses each person lights up in the other. (For instance, my husband and I have traditionally incompatible signs all around but because of the house overlays and where our planets are placed natally, it works.)As far as developing more relationship confidence I've found working through planets in the relationship houses (5, 7, 8) as well as anything aspecting them (particularly hard aspects) really helped me become aware of and overcome some of my personal hurdles. I recommend looking into the aspects and any aspect pattern formations and journaling on them, as well as first house. (: good luck IP: Logged |

Hi royalflush,I think I have semisextile too - I can relate with what you said! I’m late twenties & only started trying dating last year, diagnosed autistic & social anxiety Yesterday I ordered this report, it’s about 6 USD & it’s quite a good one, talks about one’s different love needs according to dominant elements, signs & aspects http://cafeastrology.com/shop/product/love-styles-about-her-report/ http://cafeastrology.com/shop/product/love-styles-about-him-report/ For example, with my Venus-Saturn conjunction it talked about how I may simultaneously have a fear of failure & success, which makes sense :) Just sharing in case it may help ... sometimes our biggest hurdle is understanding the underlying reasons for our issues, of course we’re well acquainted with how our issues manifest & affect us, but we don’t have that underlying understanding of why they’re issues for us in the first place, & I like how astrology can step in at that point & reveal to us things we never understood about ourselves ^_^ IP: Logged |

No kidding! My Venus-Saturn are slightly less than 10 deg, which some consider a conjunction too. To overcome it, I've been told that I need to get over the fear of rejection, which I'm consciously trying to do, although the resistance is still strong. I really envy people who can go on apps and chat with a dozen people in one go!Thanks for the link to the report! I'll definitely check it out. IP: Logged | |
