Squares are tension, but a square to Asc-Dsc also means that it's at Asc/Dsc midpoint, so instead of tension there should be some kind of Integration.

IQ soulmate calculator filter doesn't include squares to Asc axis, only conjunctions and trines. I wonder why? Especially given the midpoint factor? Actually a midpoint should be even stronger than a trine.

I found a few old threads on Venus square Asc and it looked like in most cases there was attraction DESPITE a partner not being a person's type. There were several married loving couples and a couple of cases with altering attraction-repulsion.

That can help to modify the square dynamic some. Like someone could have Moon square another's Asc, but if it is in the other person's 4th House, could that not also indicate some closeness despite the tension? Or what about a Venus square from the 5th?

10th House is also powerful and affecting, though in a different way than 4th. Where the 4th tends to have a more emotionally close and/or familial type vibe, there tends to be a lot of respect and admiration in connection with 10th House.

And of course we know that 5th is often connected to romantic and sexual attraction, and 11th to cordial friendship, shared group/identity values, etc.

Squares while difficult and challenging, are there natally and synastrally, ultimately to help us grow. There is no real consciousness growth among humans without friction, difficulty, stress, and/or challenge. Hence, our Expanded self often "nudges" us into relationships and connections with significant squares and/or oppositions for the purpose of Soul growth.

Actually a square from the 9th or 8th wouldn't hurt either.))

However this concerns the house person (it's his Asc-Dsc and also his houses).

What about the planet/asteroid person?
