I pulled a natal chart of your boyfriend on my own and I see that he has Nessus conjunct MC square his Moon in the 7th house, and Eros opposite to Nessus... transiting North Node has just hit his Moon square MC-Nessus/IC-Eros. This natal aspect suggests he has issues in relationships as if they put obstacles to his own path, he may perceive that his emotional world is an obstacle to healing and so he sabotages relationships when he feels he can't share more. And this aspect is triggered by transiting North Node right at this moment. At the same time, transiting Saturn is conjunct to natal Eros square Moon and opposite Nessus, and its clearly asking him to suppress his emotional world and reject any interference to his own path. Tr. Saturn here closes his doors to intimacy and to the closest people, drives him to seclude himself, his "heart" (Moon).
Moreover, He's Scorpio ASC with Pluto conjunct ASC and South Node, and he has the Sun/Chiron conjunction in the eight house.
This strong plutonic energy requires that he process his own issues and makes very difficult for him to share his true self or true path with anyone. It's very deep down to himself and natal Saturn opposite his Lilith creates a further obstacle in expressing his feelings or sharing his inner world.
In synastry, your natal Moons are conjunct opposite your Pluto and square your Mercury/Sun, this means that his Moon/MC-Nessus/IC-Eros highly affects your relationship and the transiting Nodes and Saturn are triggering this whole aspect also in your synastry, blocking your relationship, in fact you have tr. Saturn square your Pluto at this moment.
This is reflected in the Composite, where transiting Saturn is square to Moon, and transiting North Node is conjunct Moon.
The Composite Chiron is opposite to Saturn/Neptune, this clearly shows difficult healing through the relationship, it may even be that he feels the relationship blocks his healing for some reason...
Your Composite Mercury is conjunct IC... When transiting Mercury went retrograde it was square to the Composite nodes... and that's when he started to withdraw from the relationship... You are absolutely correct woth everything youve written about him. I also think his NN 6H Aries / SN 12H Libra plays a big part as well.
You mention that our relationship may not be over yet but deep down inside I feel that it's over for him. I will of course update with developments (if any).

Saturn is square both our moons and NN conjunct it as well. Our mercuries conjunct each other ICs so I wonder if he is feeling any pain from this loss as well but maybe not as bad as me.

Thanks for your analysis. I do desperately need love and affection to make me feel secure. I hope whatever happens by the end of all this will leave me with more sense of self reliance as you say.

I note in mid June he will also have tUranus sextile his Venus. I fear this may also help him to let me go while I sit here and dwell on us.

Tr. Uranus square to your Mercury/Saturn midpoint, along with tr. Saturn just past your Sun/Mercury and square to your Pluto, may actually bring you upheaval at work level... there may be some challenges and changes. And tr. Jupiter is right square to your MC.... but it is transiting your first house and ASC and it will be soon square to your North Node/Uranus in your 10th house, so it seems that you may have good news/chances or that you won't get disheartened! So I wish you good luck for your job in the close future!!

As for him.... well, it's weird because it is true that Jupiter transiting in square between Composite Uranus and Saturn may well bring break up and distance, but Jupiter will be conjunct to Composite Sun/Venus and then IC/Mercury next year.... I don't mean to give you false hopes and I believe separation will somehow be good for you in order to focus on yourself and the changes that are coming for you, but still following the future Jupiter transits I can't rule out that you two will somehow reconnect in the future, likely next year around March.
